Join the Thread Killers Club and Embrace Your Fate!

In summary, the conversation discusses the thread killers and how they often act. One person talks about how they are a thread killer on another forum and another person talks about how they are a thread killer on a Mac forum. Finally, someone talks about being a thread killer again.

Yeah, The Furry Guy keeps saying he's going to get that van fixed.

All the talk of shopping and vehicles makes me think - COSTCO!:D

I'll say I am going there just to get gas in the Vue....but somehow make my way inside.......and get trapped in there! I can't make my way out - until the cart (how did I end up with a cart anyway?) is full, and I've had my fill of samples.

Costco is a menace to society I tell you!

  • #2,252
mmm.... samples as lunch.....Rae, now I'm picturing the Far Side comic with 2 deer in the forest, and one telling the other, who has a huge target on his chest, "Bummer of a birthmark, Hal."

Our cat decided to bring me more prizes today..... first a mouse at 5am.... Then a chipmunk at 8:30. Keep in mind these are alive and usually end up living in my basement....

in between the mouse and chipmunk eppisodes my DS who is 2 finally fell down the basement steps (he likes to sit on the 3rd step from the top look for me by leaning over). Luckily I was downstairs and not far so I caught him halfway down. Hi is ok but pretty scraped up from the no slip tape.

Hey, how much time has to lapse before a thread is officially declared dead?

Like, forever?

  • #2,260
Probably a couple of days, although they have been known to come back to life later. I guess those are the zombie threads.

  • #2,261
hmmm good question

  • #2,262

DH has the BIG 2-volume hardcover set with every single Far Side conic in it. It's really fabulous. I just wish there were a topical index in it: Dinosaurs on pages x, xx, xxx; Talking deer on pages y, yy, yyy. ;)

I have the big 3-volume hardcover with every Calvin and Hobbes. :D

Do you read "Frazz"? I swear, it could be written by Watterston. Same art style, same lack of dumbing-down. And it's written by a Michigander!

Oh, I so miss Calvin & Hobbes. We have several of the books. Had to go online to look up Frazz. . .think Waterson has come out of retirement? The drawings are SO similar to Calvin's family. Ann, do you know where in Michigan he is from?

Side note: We had a greyhound (retired racer) who was an orange/brown brindle -- of course we had to name him Hobbes.

  • #2,280
I loved Calvin & Hobbes. When it first started appearing in our paper, it took me weeks to figure out that Hobbes was a toy tiger. (Fast, I'm not.)My current obsession is Over the Hedge. It's not featured in either of the newspapers we receive, but I view it online. Hysterical and thought-provoking!

  • #2,281
Gosh it was sooooo hot today here! My outdoor thermometer said 102! Ik! It's not supposed to get that hot in MN!!!!!

  • #2,282
There's an over the hedge cartoon? I new about the movie but that's it. Hmmm..... I will have to check it out!

  • #2,283
Extra warm in Indiana today, too. Thankfully, my show was in a lovely air-conditioned house.

  • #2,284
Oh, yeah! It's actually what the movie was based on. And, if you liked the movie, you'll love the strip. I view it through Yahoo.

  • #2,285

killing a thread is like purposely changing the subject in a particular thread!
