I just finished packing so what I have I have. No more time to shop no more room for stuff. ...but then I am driving so I can always add a bag - no wait! There is no room in the car either! - at least for the first half of the trip anyway.

  • #2,202
I have not packed one thing! I did buy a new suit case though (60% off).
I still need to find a "light sweater". All I have are jackets or sweatshirts! No "light sweaters". Try finding a sweater (even a "light" one) in the middle of summer in California!! I'm gonna try to hit up a couple of thrift stores before NC.

He wrapped his little arms around my neck, gave me a great big hug, and a big smackaroo right on my cheek and said (very loudly) "Oh Tank You Mom - I WUV you!"
One of those precious moments I want to keep in my heart forever! Because I know there will come a day - like your little guy Katie - when I won't be allowed any PDA.

Awwww......

I live for those moments!

Yeah.... My luck it will be cool this year and I have nothing to bring except my PC microfiber jacket. It's light but I'd feel strange wearing it inside. But on a good mote the AC would have to be VERY cold for me to need it!
LOL!

  • #2,206
Oh, yeah! Light jacket. Definitely need that in Chicago...

  • #2,207
Has it ever rained during conferece?
I'm still trying to figure out the comfortable shoe thing!

My oldest is turning 8 today, but is still a cuddler and loves to curl up on the couch with his head on my lap (of course, he usually just wants me to rub his back) and watch tv. Of course last week at Cub Scout day camp was the first time I wasn't allowed to kiss him goodbye in public... so grown up, but still so young...

I think Cub Scout Camp was the first time I wasn't allowed to kiss them anymore either. Something about the summertime and all those boys.

Chicago in mid-July could be chilly, rainy, hot, humid, or beautiful.I plan to bring a lightweight jacket and an umbrella. (You do know that if you carry an umbrella it won't rain. Right?)

Yeah... someone bring an umbrella to Wave 1 so it won't rain. The only umbrella I have is a really big golf umbrella - usually need it for me and the 3 kids... never seem to be without them - and I'm not sure my clustermates want me bringing it in the van!

  • #2,211
If they need to gather under it, they won't mind.

  • #2,212
Good morning, Rae! Nice to see your llama this early!

  • #2,213
Thanks! I'm up early every morning. Since I'm completely addicted to CS, This is the first thing I do after exercise and devotions.

  • #2,214
I'm NEVER up this early... just can't sleep, so I thought I'd get my CS fix whild DH is still sleeping and can't roll his eyes at me!

  • #2,215
I knew that I was still tired and after more than an hour of looking at my computer screen, I'm getting sleepy... back to bed until the kids (oldest was allowed to have a friend spend the night after his bday party) decide to get up!
Type at ya'll later...

Gee, a long time between posts. Maybe I can finally kill this thing.

Me too! Good Morning everyone.

  • #2,224
Ah, someone up and on CS before me. Nice!

  • #2,226
That doesn't count.

  • #2,227
I keep watching for news that never comes.

  • #2,228
I understand. I've given myself a time limit here. Otherwise, I'd be on here all the time and get nothing done.

  • #2,229
<slowly raises hand> That would be me.

  • #2,230
I'll still be back frequently enough to keep you from killing this never-ending thread.

  • #2,231
I have no intention of killing it.With any luck at all, it'll die of natural causes.

  • #2,232
Is that possible? I mean, after all, it's the Thread Killers thread.

I was hoping I could get on before you this morning. You are the CS early bird.

  • #2,234
I've noticed that I'm usually not on alone. It's just that I'm often the only one posting that early.

  • #2,235
I'm up with the early birds today!

  • #2,236
Tweet! Tweet!

  • #2,237
Maybe we should set our alarms to get up before Rae one morning, and surprise her!.............thinking.............thinking.............ummm, hmmmmm, Nah, maybe not!:) :)

I'm actually up about an hour before I get on here, so you'd only have to get up when I do--between 4:30 and 5:00 a.m.

  • #2,240
If my kids are up at that time, I'm trying to get them to go back to sleep for a bit longer. Of course, I don't have to leave home to drop the kids off and get to work 9a... speaking of which, guess I should get off here and go get my shower! For some strange reason (knock on wood), all three kiddos are still knocked out! WOW... a shower all by myself... WOW!!! I'm going now!!!

I have to leave my house at 5:00 am Monday for conference - so I may just be the first one up to say "Good Morning, Rae!".

  • #2,242
Could be. I'm driving in with my director on Wednesday, but I don't need to be at her house until about 11:45.

  • #2,243
Well, I sure wouldn't want this thread to die of natural causes tonight, of all nights ... :D

The way to beat Rae on in the morning is to stay up the latest

  • #2,244
Why do I suddenly feel like I'm wearing a big target on my sizable backside? ;)

  • #2,245
hmmmm.... Target......... hmmmm.............

  • #2,246
Great, now I have to go shopping. (Hee, hee!)

  • #2,247
Thats what I was thinking........ But I have spent way......... too much money lately!

  • #2,248
I'm headed to Indianapolis today to take a friend to the airport. I'm sure my trusty little vehicle will find its way to a few retail establishments before I make it back home. ;)

  • #2,249
Hate it when that happens......

  • #2,250
Yeah, The Furry Guy keeps saying he's going to get that van fixed.
