In summary, the conversation discusses both hate and love, random thoughts, how to avoid making mistakes while calling, and how to deal with aggressive drivers.

I hate it when big dogs fart and stink up the livingroom. I just sent the dog outside.

Why do I have to repeat myself several times before my DS wil listen. He is 9 and if he keeps it up he may not see 10!!!!

You know what works? TIME OUT. I did that with my THIRTEEN YEAR old a few times over the past year and you would be amazed at how much more he could hear without me repeating myself.... lol

  • #553
Random thought: how can we go through an ENTIRE roll of toilet paper in less than TWELVE HOURS??!! lol (there are only two women and one man using it....)

  • #554
why is it when you ask what everyone wants to eat for supper, they all say
"I don't care"... but as soon as you call them to come eat they look at it and and say "not hungery for that"....

  • #555
Today is a beautiful day for softball.

This is so true! And when they used to ask "what's for dinner" I'd say "why do you want to know? If you get a better offer are you going to eat somewhere else? Followed usually by "then I won't bother making dinner!"

  • #560
That's funny Tammy. Usually when I get the "I don't know" I always tell them we are fresh out how about something else.

  • #561
here's my random thought for today..... my kids clearly didn't "get" the point of their Sunday school lesson on gratitude. Right now they need to be grateful that I don't believe in corporal punishment b/c I have a screaming headache & am "thisclose" to losing my tenuous grasp on sanity.

  • #562
my random thought.......I have this water bottle sitting on my desk and the plastic bottle itself is kind leaning to one side and it's driving me NUTS!!

  • #563
my random thought for today is ........how do so many of you get on chef success from work? I'd be worried about getting fired. I worked at a hospital recently where they fired someone for internet usage and it wasn't the content but the amount of time she spent online. I also know several people that were terminated for looking at porn at work but who the heck would do that? Someone with a serious problem I'm sure.

Well, I'll try to explain as brief as I can. My job itself is internet based, I manage the produce inventory for Walmart and we have access to their inventory system and do everything there. It's a website, so at my job I HAVE to have internet to work. So, they can't measure internet time by that, b/c I'm on it all day. I keep several tabs up all day and flip b/t them, so I have stuff for work up, my personal email, CS, etc. Everyone here does it (co-worker spends all day on E-bay), so we'd ALL have to get in trouble for one person to be pin-pointed. HTH!!!

My random thought.... How am I going to pay for Christmas this year for my DS and family when we don't have enough money to pay bills. My DS is 9 and still believes in Santa and I am sure this will be his last year. He has always had lots of stuff from Santa and I don't want to downsize too much on him. I am saving for Christmas but it's hard when we have so much in bills to pay.

I've been to both of the coney island places they're currently profiling on the Today show. :) And they did a good job shooting the segments in the park so that it looks lush and green. (And I LOVE that none of the shots show my former employer's headquarters, which is right next to the park!)

WTH happened to Aretha Franklin? She's on the Today Show, and could really stand to be on Celebrity Fit Club instead.

Meredith Viera REALLY irritates me.

I didn't get much sleep last night, and she is like fingernails running down a chalkboard.

Why are mechanics rude to women? I took my car to the tire place, there is a nail in the sidewall therefore it cannot be fixed the whole tire must be replaced. I only know this because when I called AAA the guy who changed my tire told me this. I take my car in say, I need a new tire, there is a nail in the sidewall just replace it like the other 3. They call me back 3 hours later to say exremely smart A$$ like, they can't "FIX" my tire because there is a nail in the side wall??? I say ever so kindly, YES I know this, that is what I told your coworker when I dropped off my car, and I specifically asked to have the tire replaced to match the other 3. Apparently he didn't hear what I said because on the order he wrote fix flat tire. GRRRRR! I guess he didn't believe me. I said, "whatever" I know there is a nail in the sidewall, I know you cannot "FIX" that. Please for the second time and I hate repeating myself, replace my tire to match the other 3!!! ggrrrr

Why is my DS teacher so mean, my DS came home sick yesterday and stayed home today. She emailed me to say she was not sending home some work (with a friend) to be done. She didn't even say "hope Anthony feels better" "how is Anthony feeling", I don't get it.

i hate white elephant gift exchanges. in fact, i love and hate christmas. love, all the obvious reasons, but hate how compeditive it can get and how with or with out meaning to people have this tendancy to over do things to the point of astronomical perportions. it is rediculous.

I agree---my mom started a new tradition this year. She typed up a letter to the family (extended) about 10 of us.

She packaged up 10 notecards one for each person. She wrote that we have to write a nice thought about each person on the list (thought, memory, why we love them etc). Christmas morning she hosts a breakfasts for us. Everyone is to bring their cards to the breakfast and put it in that persons "keepsake box". Each person will go home with a keepsake box and 10 notes from each family about why they are special in the family.

At first, we mocked the idea, but I think it brings the greater picture to life.

She bought quality, but inexpensive cards, and tied them up with a bow and gave them to each family member with the letter this past weekend. Giving everyone enough time to write thiers.

Hopefully will bring a MORE meaningful gift to the table.

I love the idea of this thread!

Here is my current random thought... Is there anyway to get my almost 3 year old to eat prunes? He needs the extra fiber in his diet, if you know what I mean...;)

Chop them up and use them as raisins in Oatmeal Raisin cookies. I've not tried it yet but apparently you can't really tell and you get the boost of the oatmeal too.
