Join the Thread Killers Club and Embrace Your Fate!

In summary, the conversation discusses the thread killers and how they often act. One person talks about how they are a thread killer on another forum and another person talks about how they are a thread killer on a Mac forum. Finally, someone talks about being a thread killer again.

It shows you're all good down in your hearts! But you could just stop posting on here and show how GREAT you are!

  • #1,352
We aren't THAT great!

  • #1,353
You think I don't know that?? Let a mom dream won't you!

  • #1,354
Well, I have an excuse. I was at work and trying to be actually productive.

  • #1,356
Yay me! I impressed Mom! :)

  • #1,357
I'd be more impressed if you'd let this tired thread rest!

  • #1,358
see mom, I stayed out of this all day just for you!!

  • #1,359
Does that make me the favorite again???? And you can answer honestly since Jason hasn't been around for awhile!!

  • #1,360
And then, here you come and ruin your good standing. tsk, tsk.

  • #1,361
I was out helping my dad celebrate his birthday.

You know, sometimes I forget that I don't actually exist. Thankfully, I have my family to remind me.

Sounds like issues here - join the crowd. I don't even want to get started with my family!

  • #1,363
Yeah. They love me. The just don't respect me, value my contributions, or show any concern for my feelings.

That's okay. God has given me wonderful friends who mother me. He's also given me all of you to make me feel good about what I do.

  • #1,364
We love you, and value your contributions.

{{{hug}}}

now just let me kill this thread....

  • #1,365
Aww, thanks, Ann.

And, no way!

  • #1,366
But.. but... but...

I was NICE to you!

Darn.

  • #1,367
Trust me, I have been thoroughly prepared for ignoring the nice things people do. Seriously, trained for that during all of my formative years.

Besides, when you are only applauded for coming in first, you must win.

Nope. No issues here at all.

  • #1,368
What will we do if this does eve go away?

  • #1,369
get some actual work done?

  • #1,370
Now, let's not get all crazy, here.

Get?

Some of us already are crazy.

  • #1,372
Oh, yeah. Certifiable. I was simply referring to your suggestion that we [gulp] get some actual work done.

Nah! I'd find something else to do (at my 9 to 5 anyway!).

  • #1,374
That wasn't really a suggestion, it was referring to what we'd have to resort to if this thread was shut down.

Although I guess we could just start another.

  • #1,375
I was hoping to kill two birds with one stone.

(1) I get to vent a bit about the crappy way my family treats me. I know. I'm 44 years old. I should be used to it by now. I let my guard down, though, and got my feelings hurt. I'll live.

And, (2) mentioning family drama would make everyone uncomfortable, which would kill this thread, making me the ultimate thread killer.

Oh, well. It was worth a try.

  • #1,376
Awww..... I'm sorry that your family doesn't treat you with the respect and consideration that you so obviously deserve.

But you don't get to kill the thread.

Sorry.

Now, why couldn't you be my sister? You're so much more fun than my doody-head brother.

Okay, I've reverted to my 5-year-old self. Feels kind of good, though. We're supposed to embrace our inner child. Right?

  • #1,378
heh heh heh...

You said doody.

  • #1,379
Yes I did. And I meant it, too.

  • #1,380
oooohhhhh.... my necklace just broke. There are beads all over my desk (and down my bra).

  • #1,381
I think I found most of them. I really hope I did, because I don't have any more of these beads at home to remake the necklace. I guess that's tonight's project.

  • #1,382
So, have you had to explain to you co-workers why you're sitting at your desk with your hand down your top?

  • #1,383
Luckily, none of them could see me. But I think I'm going to head to the ladies' room to check for stragglers.

  • #1,384
I'm picturing you walking down the hallway while leaving a little trail of beads. Thanks for the chuckle.

Laughing with you, of course, not at you.

  • #1,385
They're aqua and purple crackle glass, if that helps your mental image any.

  • #1,386
Yep. Now I can visualize you in living color.

  • #1,387
Now I need to rethink the necklace I have partially done at home. It's made on the same Fireline as the one that just broke, and it's much heavier (gemstone chips instead of glass beads). I guess that's the weekend project.

  • #1,388
My weekend project is re-stringing my favorite watch. It's clay beads on an elastic band. The band is stretched a bit and slightly frayed where the watch is attached. I'm worried that it will break and I'll lose everything. I love the watch. It has every color imaginable, so it goes with everything.

  • #1,389
I love accessories like that!

Thanks. I don't usually buy this type of thing. I bought it at a women's retreat. They are made specifically for the speaker's ministry. One of the beads says, "Live." Another says, "Life." It's a reminder that we made thousands of decisions every day. We're used to making many of them without much thought. But, each of those leads us down a particular path. We should be intentional about the way we live our lives.

So, not only does it go with everything, it is a great conversation piece.

  • #1,392
That is cool. :)

  • #1,393
Of course. Just like us.

  • #1,394
So it looks like it's play day for you two! And I'm here working hard - putting the garage back together after the terminators drilled everything to get rid of those termites that were planning to eat my house. (HA! Caught them before they even got up the wall! Take that you buggers!!)

...Just realized I missed a 10:30 call - hope they understand!

So now that you all know where I've been (I know you were wondering even though you didn't say you were) we can just let this thread rest.

  • #1,395
Glad you stopped your pesky pests in their tracks.

  • #1,396
Just noticed the time on my last post was 10:21 it's an hour later here!

Yes, those pests have no business in my place. I do not kill bugs in the wild but just let them cross into my territory and I have my super swat ready!

  • #1,397
Icky, icky bugs. YUK!!

I did find a couple of beads in my support garment (*ahem*). So I can reassemble my necklace tonight. I think I'm going to go get a cute clasp on the way home.

  • #1,398
I am happy to announce that I did not find even ONE bug in my garage - not even a dead one. I have been there all day sorting through things and making room for my car (dh's car will stay out until Monday when the next garbage pickup is). Now I have all the yard sale and kids do you want this stuff in one place ready to go! Well, there and in the attic.

Even without finding a bug I still feel SO much better now that I am freshly showered!

Tomorrow I start preparing to paint the guest room!

  • #1,399
Garages are messy places, even without bugs. Can't blame you for wanting to freshen up.

  • #1,400
It is not clean by any means but so much neater and we will be able to actually FIND things now without stuff falling on top of us.
