I'm doing a craft fair at an elementary school, this coming weekend and have some idea, just want opinions. I'm a little nervous since I've never done one on my own at all. But I'm excited because although it may seem selfish I need the leads and don't want to share and I could afford the $30...
I didn't really know what to name this thread. My director is holding an opportunity Q & A session at a local restaurant. She has placed an ad in the local paper and has asked me to help. I was getting ready to send an email out to my possible recruits to invite them to it.
My question...
My director and I have decided to put on our own job fair/ craft show. We are not sure what to call it for advertising purposes. We have about 13 vendors so far.
What would you say on the fliers and newspaper advertising? It isn't neccesarily direct sales as I have a realtor wanting to set...
I know that most of the threads that discuss job fairs refer to them as unsuccessful. I still chose to sign up for this Job and Entrepreneurship fair (tomorrow) because I am sure that it will result in something.
I am so excited about the mini kit because it certainly feasible for anyone...
so.... yesterday and today I've been calling the contacts I made at the job fair...
some were really not interested, even though they said they were, some didn't know that they had to come up with $155 to buy the kit, even though we told everybody, some didn't answer the phone, even though I...
Our local chamber of commerce is sponsoring its first Health Fair at the end of March. My recruiter and I have a booth space reserved. I know we have the Good for YOu cookbook and some of the new products will be applicable. Has anyone else setup for something like this? Any ideas would be...
There is a Job Fair coming up in Los Angeles, March 18th. I don't know many people here in the Los Angeles area that are PC reps- and am looking for someone to share a booth with. Anyone interested? The full amount for 1 person (me) is $300., so if one person answers, it'll be $150 each, and if...
I got this email from a past guest:
I am contacting you today to see if you would be interested in being a vendor at an upcoming XXXXXX event being held on Saturday, March 21st at XXXXXXX?
We are looking for vendors to sell and display their items to the attendees of the event. We are...
I'm applying for a spot at our local "Faire on the Square" and I can't figure out which catergory I fit under.
Am I a commercial business or a cottage industry?
Do I have a retail license #?
If I write them a check for an event in May, do they cash it right away?
As you can tell, I've...
I am needing some help from the wonderful people from this group. I have a bridal fair that I am doing and would like some suggestions on what to take to show at the booth. I had seen some pictures that people had posted on here at one time, but now you can't see any of the pictures. I have...
I am in search of bridal booth photos. I have looked on here and can't find anything. Before they updated this site you could click on the tab at the top of the page and look at pictures. Now I don't know how to find pictures. I have gone to the files and haven't really found what I am...
I got in for a booth at a local 2 year college. They are having a career fair for the college kids plus the high school seniors and their parents.
Last year there were 700 students that came through not counting parents and faculty.
I have to have a hand out about my biz for each student. I...
When I'm at a bridal fair, my goal is to register weddings on site. I take their information, and enter their information when I get home. This is what those who register with me get: The tri-fold that PC makes for weddings, the well stocked kitchen sheet, a full-size catalog, and a wedding...
I would like to set up a job fair in my area for home based businesses.
I have lots of friends in other businesses that might also want to set up a recruiting booth. Has anyone else ever done anything like this?
There is a fair asking for vendors about 60 miles and 2 toll bridges from me. Would you go that far for leads? I'm not sure I want to be driving that far for shows. How far is too far away?
I had been emailing back and forth with a gal that wanted to have a show and she didn't know when she wanted to do it. After a couple of weeks emailing back and forth I didn't hear from her. Last weekend I had a craft fair and she apparently saw my table, dropped by and took some catalogs and...
I just did a fair today that was the absolute worse fair I have ever seen let alone participated in.
It was a fundraiser for an Alumni thing. Anyways, they charged $40 for the space and selling it as a shop til you drop kind of fair.
What they didn't tell anyone was the reason this was...
The fair is at a home remodelers company which is a big name in this area. They have exquisite room models in the building mostly bathrooms and kitchens. Only one is a working kitchen and it is huge and I got it :) It was a pricey fee $200 for the weekend but I will be able to mini demos...
Hello Cheffers,
I have a table at a craft fair this weekend and just got my business license for it yesterday. I will also be applying for a permanent business license shortly. I have a question though. In Guam there is no "tax" but they charge a "retail tax" of 4% to direct sales businesses...
I am doing a booth at a vendor fair this weekend and was wondering what you have used in the past if asked for a Raffle Item? I have a few products on hand. Was wondering if a Gift Certificate would be ok to do or if I should do product? Thanks for any advice.
I have a 6 foot table at a craft fair this weekend and wanted to do a practice run of setting up my table before I get there.
Attached is my picture of my table and I'd love any opinions you may have.
I plan on using the trifle bowl for all the "tickets" for prizes that way people can see...

My director was going to have a booth at a local job fair on Friday but can't make it. She has asked me to do it instead! Has anyone done these before, and if so, any tips?!
Thanks so much.
I set up a table today at a local Old Fashioned Bazaar. I was one of four 'vendors,' but there was also a craft room, a bake sale room, and a White Elephant room. Plenty of cheap ways to spend money.
I figured I'd get leads for bookings, and maybe a recruit or two, but, of course, no sales...
to ask this ... but since I am wanting to up it up at a Fair ... I thought I would try here..... I have heard of a few people putting up "Help Wanted" signs.... Has anyone on here made their own sign/flyer with some of the benefits and the words "Help Wanted" at the top?? I am really not good...
One of the fairs that I'm doing next month is being organized by a good friend of mine so I get first dips on "the good spot"... Problem is, I'm not so sure what the good spot is... Would it be the first one that people hit when they walk in, or somewhere in the middle, or next to the bake...
I have a couple of booths coming up and am trying to get everything ready.... I was wondering how everyone displays things. Like I have a business card holder, but what do you display your catalogs in? Do you have a stand or do you just put them in a basket or what. Also, I have quite a few...
This weekend was "Nostalgiafest" in a local town~it lasted from 11am -6pm yesterday and 11am-5pm today! I had 2 other consultants that split some of the time with me, but I did all the setting up & breaking down of the booth (with my families help!). I have to say I was pleased with the response...
