Becky & I are each doing an opportunity night for our potential recruits in hopes of getting them off the fence......

I don't think I have any leads touching the fence, yet. Hope it works out for you.

Jae, I always tell my team that the number of upcoming hosts they have is the minimum number of recruit leads they have;)

  • #404
I made 1 contact on Friday my doc, his wife & him like the products. So we will see if they place an order. I took the weekend off because we were camping. I will need to make up tomorrow for all the contacts I have missed.

  • #405
Had nine contacts yesterday. Possibility of two shows and a couple of orders. :)

So, I made contacts by e-mail today. I invited 3 recruit leads to our fall kick-off on Saturday, September 6th. One responded within 1 hour to go with me!!!! She wants everything in the catalog and said, "maybe someday". I'm hoping this will help get her excitement up for the biz!

  • #409
I made calls this evening--13 contacts and 1 possible sale. (She'll be getting back with me.)

  • #410
I called a potential hosts to set a show date...still waiting to hear from her...might have to call again tomorrow night.

  • #411
I had a PTA budget meeting tonight~I am wearing a OC shirt, and on the way out, a Mom stopped me to get a new catalog! THEN, a nother Mom, whom I ralked to about the business about 3 months ago, said she would really be interested in joining soon....when I told her about the rebate, she said "OK, maybe really soon!"

If all of these recruit leads really come thru, that will be 4 in one month! AND I am still going shopping for leads tomorrow! (I am a little concerned that I am excited about this part!)

Left 14 messages on machines today, 1 message w/a live person, got 2 no's from 2 people and 4 not at this time, but keep in touch..........

  • #414
I made three calls tonight, left one message, one no answer and one was fine and didn't need anything.

  • #415
I made 3 contacts tonight, 1 booking for Sept., 1 possible, & a cc call. Left a few messages, and now I need to get back in my groove.

  • #416
Got all machines today. Time to start looking for NEW leads. I did get to make a few host coaching calls so that was good. Host for this coming Tues. is still MIA.

  • #417
touched base with a recruit lead - no go
potential host confirmed date and show time
bunches of messages left.....

Left a bunch of messages last night too.....
....talked to a host for Sept, who still hasn't picked a date. I really dislike co-hosted shows! Trying to get 2 people to settle on a date is 1000 times harder than getting a date from one person....and then it's just as hard to get the show closed.:grumpy:

I also called someone who is on my list to book - tell me what you think of this?

She attended a show last September....wanted to book, but never got a date on the calendar....then, she attended a show in December, and wrote me a note on the bottom of her care card that she was sorry she couldn't get a date set, but that she still wanted to do it, and don't give up on her.... Well, here it is August, and I still haven't been able to get her to choose a date....what would you do?

Then, this morning, I had an email from a past host (her show was the night of the WORST STORM of the winter, and she still had 12 people there, and ended up with a $700 show!) asking me if she could do a show in November.....so I will be calling her in a minute just to let her know that we can get her booked - but also that the cookware is the host bonus for Sept, and SA for Oct. (Since she is collecting both!)

  • #419
OK~I suck at "shopping for leads".....nada, zip, nothing............my heart is still in my throat and my tuimmy hurts from stepping so far out of my comfort zone....I am off to skating with the kids!

  • #420
I've got my 3 live contacts in so far today, but not the results I was hoping for. Now, I'm on a mission. I am going to get atleast 1 show booked today even if it means I have to start making random calls out the phonebook!

  • #421
Meg - way to go on giving it a shot! I don't know if I would have the courage to do what you did, so congrats on just stepping out there!

I finally got in touch with my other 2 August hostesses... I talked with my referral host today and I was so nervous and sweaty (I realized it's the first time I have had to host coach since February! My other shows have been family and friends helping me to stay active while I focused on school!). My Aug 20th host moved to the 21st, so now I don't have 2 shows 2 nights in a row, however I leave in the am on the 22nd for a wedding, so I will have to be super organized and make sure my dishwasher is empty when I get home from the show :) The host says she has great turn out at her shows and is really looking forward to the interactive show. We are doing a chocolate trifle of some sort... any suggestions? I'll suggest the Tiramisu Brownie from the new season's best, but can't think of a 2nd one...

I am off to eat some lunch and get ready for my dinner with Kacey! Have a good night ladies!

Ok, I need to get a grip, I'm so overbooked this month!I am booked EVERY night with something from tonight to August 18th! 2 are PC shows :)
I have to see if DH can get my daughter to piano next week since I can't.
I still have to nail down 1 more August show. Hopefully she likes the 19th, 21st or 26th or I'm in trouble. ;)I already booked 9/6 to take a recruit lead to the fall kick-off. Double-booked the 13th with a kids fair from 9-12 and a show an hour away at 2 p.m.!!!!I am literally marking down "Family Time" so my kids don't start missing me! I REFUSE to work all the time and not spend time with them.OK, back to finishing things up at work so I can go to a cousin's wedding over the next few days. I needed to take a minute though and gather my life...busy day!

GourmetGirl said:

Yup! You don't want to see the list of things I said no too! :p
I'd need an extra month!

No, this is just my one busy month. But as we know what we do now, impacts 60-90 days from now. So if I ignore PC because of other activities, I'll have an empty fall. So I just bite down and trudge and it will be worth it in the end.

A little busy time now will give me more time later with the kids. :D
...and in the summer Grandma can visit and keep them occupied...in the winter she can't.

  • #426
Good point on the affecting 60-90 days... I need to keep reminding myself of this, especially when school kicks into gear again!

LOL - I was just talking to my director, and the two of you sound just alike!

She has 5 children, is a leader in Boy & Girl Scouts, is on her city council and heads 2 different committees for that, is active in a running club, volunteers at her church & the kids schools, and helps her husband run Running Camps for adults and children! There is probably more, but that's all I can think of right now!

Whenever I think my life is too busy, I think of you two!

I am soooo excited! I have reminded DH many times that I cannot be interrupted during that time!

Any time before when Yvonne or Sherri did the Dream Team, the calls were on Sunday evenings, and I could never participate...this time it's MY time! YEA!

  • #430
even though I made my contacts earlier (no shows booked:grumpy:), I kept trying. Still no shows booked, BUT 1 call to a recruit lead resulted in her possibly coming to my opportunity night and another who is coming over next week to do her agreement.:D I so don't want to get excited, I've had plenty recently back out before inking the deal. But, this one called me!!

  • #431
even skating with the kids was a bust today.....literally....after about 6 laps, I had to stop fast in order to not mow down a 5 y.o. just standing there and when I did, the momentum knocked me back and I fell on my head! IT HURTS!!!!!!
I think I will take tomorrow off~my evergy level is just not "on" and I need to recharge at my prayer group (although, one of my prayer buddies is interested in the opportunity!!!)

Alright, so I didn't really do anything today or yesterday...but this is what happened today...I got an email from a girl whose mom I have been trying to get to book since May and she set a date for Aug 21st!! yeah!!
At lunch I went out w/ the girls from work, actually they took me out for lunch for my b-day (last friday, just had monthend deadlines) and I ran into a past hostess. I said Hi to her and moved on to my table. She came over before she left and wants to book a catty show and wants it for September.
I got home tonight (after 9pm) to a msg on the machine from a past hostess that lives an hour from me that wants to know more about the items being discounted and I am going to call her tomorrow night and see if she is ready to host again!!
So all in all, for doing nothing...i feel pretty darn good!!

Wish that could happen to all of us at least once a week!!!
Spent my whole day w/a friend having medical tests, helping her @ her house w/ things she could not do herself.

Today was the first day of soccer practice for my dd. I made 2 contacts there. The coaches wife has been to one of my shows before and asked me for a catty. The other gal is possibly thinking about an October show and also took one of my cattys.

Didn't get all 3 contacts in but it was better than nothing. I HAVE to get some September shows on the books though...I only have 2 so far.

Booked a show for November 1st.....my first booking for November!

Made some other calls earlier today - I have gotten nothing but answering machines for the last 2 days!
Didn't make calls tonight - was helping DH get ready to be gone for 3 days for a car show. I baked Snickerdoodles and Chocolate Chip Cookies tonight. Also did laundry.

Oh - and had my first Dream Team call with my Executive Director. It went really well - I am excited about the training I am going to be getting through these calls!

Our ED sets up her own "Dream Team" - it is promote to director training. Last year's Requirements...The Dream Team
For those wanting Directorship and willing to commit to pursuing it in the next 3 months
I am looking for a 100% promotion success rate for participants- so I am being selective and do have requirements!
This is not just recruiting training which I would extend to anyone. This is a promotion plan and I am looking for the right candidates!

Details:
Kick-off meeting Sunday afternoon- Sept 9th 1:00-5:00p.m. at X's home

5 Sunday evening calls @ 8:00 p.m. central- 45 minutes to 1 hour
Sept 16th, 23rd, Oct 7th, 14th, 21st
Oct 29th Celebration event- location to be announced!

Requirements:
1. talk with X first to see if this is right for you
2. Have a MINIMUM of 4 shows per month on their calander
(without this - it is like asking you to make a recipe with only 1/2 of the ingredients)
I prefer 5-8 shows per month to ensure success - but will work with those with 1 show a week)
3. in person attendance at the kick-off meeting on Sept. 9th
4. have a strong and clear purpose as to why they want to build a team of your own and be able to share that with me
5. Desire and positive attitude

This year, she added to have at least 1 recruit going in...and did the kick-off at breakfast last day of Conference.

My Executive Director is doing training with a group of us who want to promote to director in the next (I think) 6 Months....maybe it's 3 months....I don't remember that part.

We have to be accountable for several things - and have to email her after every show. We have a conference call once a week, and she does training with us then, and then we have homework to do. We also have to have at least 1 show scheduled per week - because our homework is done at our shows!

She has done them before and so has my Sr. Director.....statistically, the consultants who participate are way more likely to promote within the given time frame than those who aren't taking the training.

3 CC Calls, 1 addition to my newsletter. Nothing exciting, but I made my contacts.Amy I am sorry about you not getting a booking, but the hot recruit leads sound good.

  • #441
Becky and Janet - thanks for the info! Sounds great! I like that she has the requirements... my director did a step-up to directorship program and while it was good, I didn't have enough shows for it to really help. Good luck - I know you'll do great Becky!

Oh - and Janet's first line director is my Exec. Director.....Yvonne Mattson.

I am just getting to know her, but I really like her - she is so down to earth, and personable....but wow! She knows her stuff! The training she was giving tonight, and the things she was teaching - it just seemed to flow from her like it was second nature.....

  • #443
Wow, Becky, I would love to have some training like that. I did the Step-up program with my Director last year, but it just seemed like she was quickly skimming through her guide, and although I learned some great tips, there was nothing in place to hold me accountable.

Made 2-3 contacts both yesterday and today. Nothing of significance to report. I closed out a show today, and the host (with the autistic son) wants to look at the DVD, and talk to her DH still. While having coffee at my neighbor's house tonight, she mentioned that my host for Aug. 31 wants to reschedule because of the Labor Day weekend. (Doh, how did I miss that one! I also have a show for Aug. 30th scheduled!) another booking lead is no longer interested because she is too busy.

I really want to get myself organized so that I have a list of calls to make, so that I can make them throughout the day. I am really struggling with that. Like Amanda mentioned in a recent post, to grow my business, and get my calendar the way I want it, I need to get at least 6 contacts in a day!

I'm right there with you Brenda!

I am at a point where I feel like I am being held back by my lack of organization. I am frustrated with myself....and I look around and think "how did I get here?"

  • #445
And the organization thing goes way beyond my phone call list.............I am just getting around to setting up my September shows, and mailing kits (part of it is because I had a brain freeze and forgot that I got catalogs in the changeover kit, and that I did not need to wait until my supply order arrived!) My whole house needs cleaning/organizing!

  • #446
When I got organized last summer I found something like this at Office Max. Mine has slots going horizontally, not stacked vertically. I put catalogs in one lower slot and order forms in the other. Then in the top slots I put file folders with everything I need for host folders, along with 1 slot with cooking show folders put together (just needing host/guest special and OOFs) and 1 with catalog show folders put together. It is really nice for being organized! I always know what I am running low on and where things are.

I had four contacts yesterday and talked with a potential recruit. The recruit isn't at the sign-me-up point yet, but she wants to sign with me when she's ready. The contacts resulted in two orders. :)BTW, one of the contacts asked me about the Chillzanne products. She said her friend was interested. This friend has a daughter who sells PC in another state. I told her that her friend could order the products from her daughter and have them shipped directly to her here in Indiana. Question: Do your friends and family who live out of state know that? I assured my customer that I'd be glad to help her friend order anything she wanted, but she might feel better ordering from her own daughter.

Ok I have not had a chance to see what the rest of you have been doing but Good work!!!
I gor a solid 8 maybees after my presentation at my biz group this week. It took being direct!

Also from my new biz group today I got 1 show, and 1 recruit lead. Also got a line on some curch events and festivals.

I have a buzy weekend with taking the kids to different events at the fair (yeah I get to go with them this year instead of being stuck at my booth trying to catch glimpses of them having fun)

I do have a show on Sat. I thonk the host would be great at PC but doesn't have $ for the kit and is wary of direct sales. She tried Avon for a few weeks and it turned her off. Still I am going to sit down with her to discuss it a bit more.

God seriously wants me to take this day off~I've just returned from the ER!!! Apparently, the fall at the skating rink caused a concussion and now I MUST rest and take Advil! Had a CT scan, and all is well with the brain (that's what they said, honest!) and it will just take a few days to feel better.....off to rest now. I'll be back Monda!
