I actually got him a web cam as an early Bday present before he left.... needless to say it was a waste... they can't use them... everything is blocked over there... he's lucky he gets to chat.

that is a bummer. I had hoped you could use web cams. I quit using mine because I am embarassed of what is behind me. My new computer has one in it so I could take it down stairs and my son could type to his grand parents.

I grew up on an AF base, they will write you up if it is too long AND if it is too short. bummer to have your life watched but it is a good life too. Better neighborhoods than what I have now.

I do like my neighbors though... I grew up a military brat and then married into the AF.

Now that you say that, some of our neighbors weren't our favorites but do you have gangs near you? Really, I am not sure ours are gangs but delinquent kids whose parents really never give them structure so now as adults living with parents they are still cause a lot of trouble.

There are gangs near us so I am not thrilled about that.

We had one neighbor who was always calling us in for having a dog outside. The dog was from Alaska and was a husky - to bring her in the house was to torcher her and us. She would howel all night and destroy anywhere she was put. She would be quiet outside and had a very nice house to live in.
