Boost Your Success with 3-2-1 Accountability: A Productivity Diary

In summary, Sandy is trying to do 3-2-1 but has trouble getting to 4 contacts a week. Paulette is trying to do 3-2-1 but is not doing well with only 2 shows per month. JAE is trying to do 3-2-1 7 days a week.

I guess everyone is out doing shows?
I did an expo today for 2 hours then did a show tonight that was great. The host worked her behind off with collecting outside orders, and right now she is over $700 with more orders coming, 1 firm booking (Jan), another checking a date for Dec.
At the expo I booked another show for Dec and lots of potential cattys as well as a strong recruit lead! I also ran into a future host who was working a booth for her employer so we talked briefly about turning her show into a kickoff show for her if she decided to sign before her show!
Hope everyone is off doing some fantastic shows! Can't wait to hear your results!

I called to rebook with an October show for November. She's decided to have the show at her friends house, so she's checking Monday at work with the dates I gave her. I packaged a catalog show today after getting an address from a host. Sending out Monday (Nov. caddy). I'm at 8 shows, 2 caddies and one holiday bazaar I'm hosting in November with 10 other vendors. Sunday I'm contacting two more I know wanted to book. I'm shooting for 12.

I'm shooting for 12 cooking shows too. Right now I have 9 (2 are fundraisers) and 5 Catalog Shows. The nice thing about 3 of the cattys is that they are past catalog show hosts who have had great catalog shows for me! The other 2, because they are unproven, I am not holding my breath for or counting on for sales - they will just be icing.

I'd like to, but I NEVER take it for granted! In September - I had 9 shows - and only 4 actually closed in Sept., and they were all around $300 in sales.......
October will definitely be $6000, I am already at $5000 with 3 Shows this week and 2 Catalog Shows to close (and a show from this past week to close too)......so I am hoping - and working towards - a $6000 month for November!

I really need to get back into 3-2-1. Once I have made all my follow ups with the leads I got from the festival last month, I have not been so consistent with my calls. I have left a few messages with folks, and making some host coaching calls (although, many of those have been machines).

I had a show last night, with about 7 guests plus the hostess in attendance. I got one definite booking for November 18th, one possible booking for February, and the one outside order (who I have met a few times before, a friend of a friend, and saw the night before the show) mentioned that her and her stepdaughter were talking about having a show together. Sales are only around $300, but I am happy with the booking prospects!

I did get some more organizing, so I am ready to make some more phone calls starting on Monday!!!

I also have a goal of 12+ shows, with hitting the $3000 mark for November. I am currently at 8 cookings shows and 1 catty show on the books, with 2 days at a Holiday Market on the 2nd and 3rd of the month, which I hope to turn into a few shows. And with 3 more cookings shows and a possible 3 catty shows to close for October, I am hoping to start filling up December.

show today was a first for me - combo show with TS. Sales were good, over $500 with 2, possibly 3, bookings. The TS lady had over $600 in sales!! Both of us were surprised by the totals! Now, having said that, I also had a few guests leave prior to my demo, and another guest was one of my recruits who came for the TS party but also to watch my demo for some training. I feel bad on that end as I really shortened my demo since I could tell people were tired of sitting. But I think the host is still expecting some more outside orders so its all good!
I still have 3 more shows this month, so if I can get the 3 from this weekend closed along with the next round I'm anticipating my best month ever.........atleast until November! I have 13 Cooking shows for November and quite a few cattys going too, so I am hopeful I can pull out some big numbers and get the cruise afterall. Although, I still need to get those recruits qualified!!
Can't wait to hear how everyone's weekend turned out!

Five contacts today. No solid leads, but good customer connection.

  • #1,010
busy day! host coaching and delivering host packs today. One stop resulted in an order and a new potential host who is looking to get some cookware!!!
Need to start on calls to fair leads, but honestly I have been so busy just trying to keep up with my current shows.
Also talked with some team members in hopes of getting them qualified by the end of the month. We'll see. It's killing me in that they have done the shows but are dragging their feet on submitting them! UGHHH!!!!

In addition to host coaching yesterday, I had two contacts. No real measurable results, but I know the connections are important.Actually, with all of the things on my plate yesterday, including a prayer meeting that ran later than I expected, I feel pretty good about the contacts. :) I'll be making my contacts at a show this evening.

Monday, I left messages, did some host coaching, but no other contacts. (my 2yr old DD has been running a fever, my 4yr DS has been coughing).

Today, at my dental appointment, chatted with the hygenist about PC, and then the dentist walks in and says, Oh! you sell PC?! I swear I have everything in the catalog! So, I gave him the new mini-catty.

I made one customer care call, and also spoke to the organizer of a bazaar that I just acquired for Saturday. I also did some over the phone training with my new recruit. She mentioned that the host from her first show, as well as the host's friend are interested in the opportunity, but my recruit doesn't think she wants to recruit right now, so she may hand them off to me!

I have shows lined up the next two days, so I hope to get some bookings from them!

  • #1,013
I got one person to say yes to my mystery host catalog show. (1 down ~ 9 to go!)

When I called the next person to see if they were interested, they said that they have already started collecting orders and would turn it in to me as an October or November catalog show.

Another lady I spoke to said that she would have a November show if I could wrangle up 5-6 people to do a Mary Kay facial with her. I will try but I'm not a big fan of trading shows. Besides, most everyone I know either has a MK consultant or doesn't like it at all. We'll see what happens I guess.....

I also got a lot of machines today too but at least did my 3-2-1.

I know it would be great to have them sign under you, but in the long run it may be better for you if they sign under your recruit! If she starts building a team too, she is less likely to fall off the face of the earth as a consultant. Her recruits would still be in your first line.........

I had training with 2 of my team members last nights, so that took my prime calling time. I did try to make some contacts yesterday during the day, but I just kept getting machines, even for those that said the best time to call them is during the day.
I mailed some cute postcards to all of my fair contacts that I received the other weekend. Of course, the credit is due to another cheffer for designing them! I'm hoping I may get some online orders from those!

Well, my Tuesday contacts included a call for customer care and a show. There were four "legal" guests and a few teenage girls. (I've had a lot of teenage girls at my shows, lately.) One of the teens voiced interest in the business, so I gave her a recruiting packet and made an appointment to get back with her.The other four guests booked three shows! One is an October catty to get a Deep Covered Baker. Two are November cooking shows. Actually, since one of those shows is to be co-hosted by two of the guests, everyone at the show booked. Plus, the host had one outside order for a woman who wants to schedule a show. I'll be calling her this evening.Oh, yeah, and, with outside orders, the show is sitting at just over $500, with "lots of other orders" to collect, according to the host.I love my job!

Hmmmm....

I better get on that phone before church tonight. I've been playing with my son all day. I did drop off some catalogs to a possible catty host today....

  • #1,021
well, like Ellen said, its church night here. So I was not able to get anyone one the phone except 2. One is a December host that I wanted to touch base with. More so because she is interested in the biz and i would LOVE to get her to turn her show into her own show. But she was busy so we are supposed to talk tomorrow. My other contact said she is interested in doing an online catalog show since she just moved to the area. But honestly I think she said that to get me off the phone, but I'll send her the materials and see what happens.

I also talked with a team member who is getting ready to submit show #2, with the 3rd hopefully submitted by the end of the month. She also thinks she can gather enough orders on her own to submit #4. If she does, and another one who is sitting on $1500 in sales submits by Oct 31st I'll promote in November. And as much as I want to be excited about it, I just can't. I've been so close for so long, that I've had to just turn it all over to God and realize that it's not on my time. And believe me it is soooooo hard for me to do that!!

Oh, I almost forgot I did talk to another host today that wants to close her show tomorrow, and she is busting her hiney to try to get a few more orders to push her to $1000!! I hope she makes it, as I haven't had a $1k show since my first month (Feb)!!!

sorry for the long post.....

Made my contacts. Got a couple of maybes firmed up. I'll be vacationing the next couple of days, so I won't be on here. I may be making PC contacts, though. Hey, you never know. :)

  • #1,023
Left messages for several people - got an email from a friend who booked for late November and firmed up a date for a girl's night out at a Harley Davidson dealership for early November. Very excited - already have 3 vendor events, 4 cooking shows, and 1 catalog show for November (hoping to get one more in there yet) Have fun on your trip Rae!

Thanks! It's with my Pig Butt Buddy, so I know I'll have fun.

Rae, Awesome for you on all those bookings!

Amy, I know what you mean with the recruits. Her and I talked about it, and she is not sure if she is ready to take on a team yet. I told her it is up to her, and I would guide her along the way.

No phone contacts today. I had a show, with about 8 people in attendance. 2 were nieghbor friends that left half-way through the show, and another was also a neighbor and one of my potential recruits. I mentioned the opportunity to her again (already did the interview in Sept) and asked if she has thought about it any further. She is still sitting on the fence! No solid bookings tonight, but I do have a potential wedding registry (no date has been set for the wedding yet), and a potential fundraiser for January for a Girl Scout group, and ONE potential booking for January.

I have another show tomorrow. so looking forward to more contacts again!

  • #1,026
I booked a January show from an outside lead from a show today. I also booked a November show from an outside lead from another show today. I'm passing out two catalogs to two co-workers who asked me about PC products tomorrow. I called my hosts for next week.

  • #1,027
A LOT of host coaching calls tonight.
Closed a $1000 show today, WOOO HOOOO! It's only my 2nd one, so I'm so excited! Closing another show in the morning, and another on Monday. Hoping my shows this weekend close by Wed night too, if so it will be my best month ever!!!
Had lunch with an old family friend today, and she volunteered to do a catty, so that was schweeet! And she even bought my lunch!! I felt really bad about that, I mean I wasn't meeting with her about PC at all, just to re-connect, and then she springs for lunch and offers to do a show?!?!

  • #1,028
Congrats on the $1k show Amy!

I handed a holiday mini to the checker at Safeway and the teller at the bank. Called a guest who was interested in a show but now wants to wait until the new year. I guess I can handle that.

I have a vendor fair tomorrow night so will be making all my contacts there. Then I'm off for a few days which I'm really looking forward to. My busiest week ever with PC and I end up with a really nasty cold!! Figures.

Whooo Hoooo!Booked 4 shows tonight at my show! 1 Cooking for Nov., (and she took Nov 15 - my closest open date!), 1 Catalog show for November, 1 Cooking Show for Dec., and 1 not sure yet.......she had to leave before I could talk to her about a date (had a fussy baby with her) but she circled a "10" on her guest care card, and underlined it!:D I now have 10 Cooking Shows and 6 Catalog Shows for Nov., 4 Cooking Shows and 1 Catalog Show for Dec, and also 3 Cooking Shows for January! Whoo Hooo! (oh wait, I already said that!)ETA......again, it was the 30 minute chicken that worked it's magic. Of the 3 bookings that I talked to, all of them booked, not because of any host bonus, but because they want to get the DCB for half price!!! I just keep doing chicken and biscuits, and they just keep booking!

Way to go Becky!!!!!!!

I had a show tonight as well. Although sales are only at $108.50 right now, with about 7 guests (plus host) in attendance, I booked my first December show (on DEC 1st!!!!!!) and a February show. Another guest wants to check with her friend to see if the friend's SIL is still a consultant before she books with me. (I also gave that person some opportunity info for her college age daughter).

I booked a November cooking show today.
Closed a show from last week.
Confirmed a catalog show that is happening now.
Gave out a catalog.
Did a little host coaching too.

Geeze Louise Becky!! That is awesome!! With that many shows and contacts you are bound to earn whatever incentive you are shooting for, and sign lots of recruits! YOU ROCK!!
Now, how to you manage to keep up with your host coaching. That is the issue I'm having right now with a filled calendar. I'm so afraid that someone (read: catalog hosts) are going to slip thru the cracks. I mean time wise, the best possible time for me to call is betwen 7-9, and so doing host coaching calls, and trying to reach new leads does not leave me much time to do CCC's either.........UGH!! But I guess it's better to have this problem than the alternative right?

Amy - to be honest, I am struggling with host coaching/ccc, etc......I do what I can, but not at the level I was. I have 2 Catalog Hosts for Oct that I haven't spoken to at all.......because I don't have email addys for them, and I am having such a hard time finding evening phone time. I recently started another job w/ my church which also involves some evening & phone time - so lately I feel like I am ALWAYS on the phone, and yet still not on the phone enough!

I've heard before that any kind of communication with a host is still communication, and they still feel connected. So I am trying to figure out if I can come up with some "host coaching" postcards (other then the couple from Nancy's that I still use). Also, last night, 2 of the people I booked stressed to me that they prefer for me to contact them through email. I KNOW we are supposed to do phone - but if they agree that email is the best way, I'm probably going to take it! I did go over their host packet with them last night, so they have had one "in-person" host coaching time, and I'll call the day before the show to touch base and get directions, etc.......I'd love to hear from some others who have been doing 8-12 shows a month consistently to find out how they do their host coaching and keep up with all of their communication!

Me too!! ANYBODY?!?!?!?
As it is, I'm ready to hire my neighbors 14yo daughter to come and assemble host packets, and stamp/label catalogs, order forms, etc just to give me some breathing room. Not that I'm specatucular or anything, but it seems like right now I am living/breathing PC and it is wearing me down!

Isn't that the truth!? I don't have snow here but this last Janurary was still TERRIBLE for me! Hopefully this year wont be a re-peat. I only have one December show and NO January yet so I better make these November shows count!

  • #1,038
Just got an email from a friend who is booking a January show. Sent out some emails to people who have told me they'd like to host in the new year so hopefully will get a bunch of January bookings. I have 4 shows in November, 1 catalog show, and 3 vendor events where I hope to get more bookings from as well. Still have a message out to hopefully another November show.

back from my show tonight, sales at over $400 with 1 Jan booking and another possible (not sure of date), she had to leave early with a fussy baby. No recruit leads. ****sigh****
Looking to fill in my calendar some more for December, so hopefully between tomorrow and Sunday's show I finish that month out and get cracking on January. So far I only have 2 on the books for Jan*****sigh, again*****

Had a fundraiser today......what fun! It really was alot of fun, the host is a riot, and has a great sense of humor, and is a true joy to work with.......and there was a guy at the show - single dad, LOVES Pampered Chef, and asked me a ton of questions! Turns out he is the head of a large non-profit organization, and wants me to come do a fundraiser for them! He said a modest # would be 200 in attendance. It would be at a regular meeting, and the PC show would be the entertainment! He told me that he had been to many PC shows - and mine was the best he'd seen! WOW! He scheduled it for February, because their agenda for meetings is done in advance, and he wants to put me on the schedule and get the word out for people to mark their calendars now for the Feb date! He asked me if I thought I could do a show for that many people....and of course I said "Sure I can!"..........now I just have to figure out how!

Then, I got home, and had a phone call from a husband & wife who are hosting a show in Nov. She is a Dr. and he is a writer who works from home. He is thinking of signing at their show. They asked me if we could do it as a "Couples Show" so I said "Sure I can!" , then they emailed me their guest list of 40 couples! Soooo, now I just have to figure out how to do it! (and they don't want games - like one of those battle of the sexes things) They want a Bites and Bevs show, but also want to make sure there is enough to eat for the guys.....totally understand - I know my DH wouldn't be happy going to a party and only getting a couple bites of something!

Wow, Becky. You are doing so well! You are so busy. I thought I was busy. I had a show Thursday night, and two people wanted to book a show in January. I scheduled one and we even scheduled a snow date. It's a Friday night and I don't normally do those. I know nobody else will want that date. It's out of town but five minutes to my sister's. I'll plan to sleep over. It's not in the first 9 days of January, but I honestly don't care. I'm just glad I got bookings after my totally unfocused evening. I feel like I bombed but then everyone ordered a lot of product and I got two bookings. Works for me!

YOU are doing well too! You work your business, and you don't give up - and that is going to make you more successful all the time! You have a great November lined up - and now you are also getting Jan. bookings!

The first 9 days are iffy for me too - just not sure about booking those dates. I usually have a good January - but mostly people want to wait until the kids are back in school and the routine is back in place before thinking of having a show.

  • #1,043
I'm just not that into working for those dates just to get a tablecloth. The kids go back to school very soon after Jan. 1, so I think people around here will be back into the swing of things. If someone gives me a date and it isn't those first days, I'm not going to push it. I may want to recover from Christmas, too.

  • #1,044
saturday show was good, no bookings though. Another this afternnon, so maybe I'll get some bookings but I would much rather get a recruit signed and QUALIFIED by the end of the year instead!
Becky, you are on fire!! Congratulations on such HUGE leads!!!

todays show total bust - only 1 guest showed up. And yes, I host coached her like crazy, but I don't think (well now I know) she followed the coaching/advice. Oh, well. got home early to have extra time with my family this afternoon.
Now, to make some team calls..........

  • #1,046
Okay, so I'm back from Chicago and mostly recovered. :)I closed a party Saturday morning. I attempted to close another party on Saturday afternoon. However, the host had forgotten that I was coming. She had been ill, and hadn't called anyone. Since her party was the one at which only two people showed, it's not a legitimate show. I gave her more time. I did manage to talk to several people about PC while I was gone and at a non-PC party Saturday night. I can't say I really consider them "contacts," though. I'll be making calls tomorrow and closing another party.

The only contacts I made today was handing out 3 host packets and one host coaching session. Also called my host for tomorrow's show to get a head count etc. (15 yes's she thinks).

I will probably do most of my 3-2-1 tomorrow at the show.....

I was gone part of the evening teaching a class at church - came home to the phone ringing. A lady who was at a party last week, calling because she has decided she wanted to have a show......before Thanksgiving! I had ONE date before Thanksgiving when I could possibly do a party.....and she took it! CRAZY!

THEN - I called my host for Thursday night.......only to have her tell me that she may have to reschedule.....seems she has been trying to meet this guy on the internet to buy a puppy from him, and they may be able to meet Thursday evening.....:grumpy: great! She wanted to know if she could reschedule before T-giving.....umm, nope! She says she has outside orders - so that may become a catalog show.
