She was just upset that no one was paying attention to the demo, and expressing that she's a little uncomfortable with seeing breast feeding. There is nothing wrong with being uncomfortable when someone you don't know starts breast feeding with her breast in plain view, in her home or wherever. It would certainly take me by surprise if I was in the middle of a show. Of course, the host has a right to feed her child but the consultant has the right to be a little uncomfortable. And yes, the consultant is a guest in the home, but she still can be uncomfortable. If something makes you uncomfortable, its ok. Once you become edcuated and learn more about something that's when you get over the discomfort. I would love to hear some suggestions from the more experienced consultants about how they would approach breast feeding at a show.

I am so happy knowing that there are people like me who always enjoyed PC parties because of the cooking demo. And I just feel justified buying cooking tools. I do like and support ALL home businesses (my jewelry is Silpada, my make-up mostly MK, my creams Beauty Control). I just know PC is the right choice for me. I've gotten a recruit who just wants to do bridal registries - no presentations.

My ex-husband worked with an Arbonne consultant who was a flight nurse in real life. She was getting ready to quit being a flight nurse because she was making such great money with Arbonne. But my ex was always annoyed because whenever they were on down time, she was constantly on the phone or on the computer working her business. Imagine how much money she'd make putting that effort into PC!!
Apparently, the Direct Marketers Association is getting on Arbonne for mis-representing the income their consultants earn. Also, lots of consultants don't realize they're signing up for the biz. Here's how it was presented to me by one of the ladies clawing at me: For just $35 a year, you can get all your product for (I can't remember the amount)% off! They are offering this to everyone who agrees to make a purchase! The same lady really talked up Arbonne because she wouldn't have to do shows and be away from her family.

It was really so rude, and no one was interested. I responded politely and with respectful interest, but inside was soooo annoyed! *ugh*
Have you ever had that happened to you at a show?
ChefBurke said:HAHA OOOOOOk.. well i went to a convention & swapped shows with a MK girl.. i am getting the shitend of the deal?
rennea said:How is that, she had a show for you and had outside orders for a $400.00show and now you don't plan on helping her out? It sounds like she may be getting the short end of the deal!

AJPratt said:Usually I would say something stupid like, "Let it happen, Captain." and that just doesn't seem appropriate.
Yes. The OP's message made me wonder how I would react and what I could say that would comfort that Mom and some guests who may be uncomfortable. Its something I'd rather be ready to positively address than not know what to say.DebbieJ said:You mean to encourage a mom who is NIP (nursing in public) at a show? I guess I'm just not understanding why something needs to be said at all. I think the less attention you bring to it, the more normal it will be to everyone. And honestly, if you and your babe get good at it, a lot of times people don't even notice what you are doing.
snugbug said:LOL- honestly I think that would be just fine. I would either say nothing because nothing really 'needs' to be said or if you feel the need to break some tension then that works I'm sitting here nursing my toddler at the keyboard right now and your comment made me giggle- not feel offended If I had to say something I could see myself saying something like 'all this good cooking was making someone hungry '

djreed said:Ok all of you computer guru's out there...... how about putting together a comparrison sheet of all the benefits of PC vs the others out there? MK, AV, etc. This would be a great help to those of us who encounter ones who are on the verge of wanting to get in, but just don't know.
AJPratt said:There was a Silpada demo at a show of mine and the rep said that the host got a 10% credit for whatever was spent. She was really nice and is considering PC.
Lisa821 said:I am a mother to a 3 yr old and a 3 month old. I nursed my 3 year old and also am nursing the baby. Nothing should be said to a guest who is feeding their child. There are ways to be descreet about it, the child has a right to eat just like you and I. If people made less of a big deal about nursing in public more woman would choose to do so. It is so much better for a baby.
Good luck trying to concieve/COLOR]

Awesome! That's so exciting! I'm glad you found the info here that helped you make your decision! I think you'll LOVE it! The sooner you're up and running, the sooner you'll start getting paid! Try to get those 10 shows on your calendar ASAP. It may make for a crazy schedule at first, but you'll earn tons of new products AND have a VERY solid foundation to your business. Good luck!!mbh06 said:Well this is my first post because this subject has really interested me. I haven't actually signed up yet, I am going to meet with someone tomorrow and was having second thoughts. I joined this site to find out more info so I knew what I was getting myself into. After this I now know the benefits of PC. I sold Avon and made no money I bought a ton of stuff that I never used and was not happy with. The makeup didn't stay on and the face cleanser was not for me. So I switched to MK, which I am still signed up with for the discount. I love the product but have so much trouble selling. Everyone sells MK and they want you to recruit more. I didn't spend much on inventory and am so glad that I didn't. I now am able to see the benefits of PC and wanted to thank whoever started this thread!
Oh- I know someone that sells Longaberger and she will tell you the hostess benifits and selling is horrible. I was also considering Lia Sophia (jewelry) but realized that it was so impracticle to own 30 set of earings
I intend on signing up tomorrow to be a new PC consultant! (I already have about 10 people ready to have shows so that makes me happy) I didn't have a single person with MK...
