I know someone who keeps a second Cook's Corer to use to pick apart knots in her children's shoelaces.

Use the QSP to wash delicates, then spin in the salad spinner. Yes- keep separate ones of each for clothes and food!

Baker's mat (also works with the silicone hot pad) - non-skid mat to keep children from sliding out of high chairs and booster seats.

Two "alternative" uses for products:

Baker's Roller - Lady told me it's the best thing and uses it nightly on her husband's feet. (Gross).

Mini-Serving Spatula - another lady told me it's the best kitty litter pooper scopper ever. (Gross).

  • #53
I'll take their word on the kitty scooper... eeuuuuwwww....

I had a guest at a show hold up the microplane and announce, "This looks just like my foot file at home!"

I'm loving the microfiber towel and the 2 cups of water "demo".....every single person at my show last night added a towel to their order!

The 10 minute pork tenderloin in the Covered Baker. We're selling them like hot cakes and booking parties in Oct for those that want the discount. It definitely sell it.:D
How do you do this?

  • #57
Check out CC... it has a bunch of flyers and info on it... AWESOME show to do!

  • #58
For other ideas for the microfiber towels, click on Files in the menu, and search on towel and you'll find documents with a bunch of ideas for the towels.

  • #59
Keep the ideas coming, especially cookware recipes that also show lots of other products.

I love to demo/sell groupings ~ My favorites:

Cutting Board - 16.50

Forged Cutlery 5" Utility Knife - $32.00

Ultimate Mandoline - $59.50

Citrus Press - $16.50

2 Qt. Quick-stir Pitcher - $14.50

Total: $139.00

Having this grouping printed on their order form: PRICELESS!!*

*If they buy the entire grouping, I give them 10% off - usually entices someone else to purchase a grouping.

So - it is easy to show them using only a lemon (about the only demo I do at a show anymore:D ) how easy it is to make lemonade. Great grouping for the bride & groom

Put together some groupings and PRINT it on your order form or have it on your lapboards...

Gina,
This is a really great idea! It is also a great idea to create groupings in cluster meetings, so everyone can take them home and feel prepared for the next month or so out!
I had the opportunity to see Pat Raineville (sp?) speak a couple of years ago, and she did this on a regular basis when she sold Pampered Chef. She was a Consultant with a really high show average, too. (like $900!) Her idea about this is, if people have a "grouping" to choose from, sometimes they take it, simply because you've made shopping "easy" for them.
She suggested that you have several of these available, only to guests in attendance at the show, and to have them in varying amounts, too, so that you can appeal to a wider variety of tastes/budgets.
Do you have other "groupings"? Pat used to name hers, too. Do you offer more than one at a time? If so, how do you label/name them?

Hello,
Well I picked up a tip right here on this board not long ago about doing the Molten Lava Chocolate cake in the Rice Cooker and how that sold lots of rice cookers! I tried it at last night's show. I sold 5 of them!!! I told them to time me -- I was going to make a chocolate cake in 15 minutes including the time it took me to open the cake box. They loved it--the collective gasp and oohs and ahs when I flipped the cake onto the plate was fabulous!Cath

Well, I have a pretty unique use for the salad spinner......I had a July host who booked to get the Salad Spinner - to spin dry the family bathing suits!:D She doesn't cook at all (Seriously - her refrigerator & freezer were EMPTY except for some fruit, frozen pizzas, and the demo ingredients!) but she fell in love with the Bathing Suit Spinner!

I am the only person who thinks this is sad?

  • #64
Not everyone cooks. I read about one kitchen designer who actually designed a kitchen for someone... without appliances. The people simply *never* cooked.Sad for us, certainly. Just right for them. Not everyone wants to cook.

Hey - she rebooked for October because she thinks that even she could do the 30 minute chicken or the 10 minute Tenderloin......so I don't consider it sad - I consider it an opportunity to teach someone a new skill!!! By the time I get done with her - she is going to LOVE to cook!:D

Displaying my ignorance...what is the ice cube demo in the skillet?

Another alternate use of a product -- I think I may win the prize:
My step-father (age 81) has a catheter and can't wear shorts in the summer (in Palm Springs -- 100+ degrees all summer) so his urologist told him to disconnect the bag and wrap the tube with a rubber band -- so my mom had the great idea to use a Twixit Clip!! Probably not something I will share at a show, but I told my mom to tell the urologist (and be sure to tell him to buy the Twixit Clips from me!)

What is a 'Why Bag'

A why bag is a bag of props that tell the story of WHY you do PC.

Example:

School bus- I talk about how I started this to be home when my step kids got off of the bus, but now I am staying home FT with my 2.5 year old!

Purple Bra- tells about the support I receive (from PC training, from my Director and TEAM meetings, from other consultants)

Luggage Tag- since I have been selling PC I have paid for ALL of the plane tickets for step kids to fly back and forth between OH and FL (about 2 times each year)

Things like that. Make it PERSONAL to you, and keep it to 3-5 items. Otherwise it's too much for guests to listen to! Short and sweet!

I have sold a large bar pan at every show simply because I tell the guests that you can make a full pan of bacon without the mess. I spread out the bacon on the pan, bake it in the oven for about 20 min. and I don't have to worry about flipping or splattering or having the house smell like bacon for hours. (it seasons the pan nicely too!)

The other item I sell alot of are the Prep Bowls. I used them to melt butter and dip my crab legs in, and also for any dieters out there, they make a PERFECT serving size. You can measure any of your food in one bowl and it makes the perfect serving size for most diets out there. Trust me .......I know :grumpy:

Bumping to see if anyone has any other groupings they use. I'd like to put together some to have options at my shows.

This is a great thread.
I really like the ice cube demo. I've been doing it with my 8" saute and a cheapo pan I've been using before PC. I even give the cheapo pan the ice cube first and show everyone how much faster the PC pan melts the ice even without heat. This seems to really impress guests.

Around these parts I almost always demo the garlic press! "no need to undress your garlic...leave it's skin on..." I sell a garlic press at almost every show. Falltime I demo the apple peeler/corer/slicer. I tell them to do all their apples all at once, put them in a freezer safe bag (portioned out) with some Cinnamon Plus and all year long they will have apple pies! Just take out a pre-portioned bag, dump it in a pie crust and bake! They love it!

A Why Bag is a little bag filled with items that represent why you do Pampered Chef. It's a way to talk about our consultant opportunity. In mine I have a toy car (earn enough $$ to make a car payment), 2 fake $50 bills (average consultant earns $100 a night), an old product (get free products), health insurance card (I get my health insurance through PC), my director ribbon (promotion are unlimited), volunteer name badge (my hobby), a picture my niece drew (good job for stay-at-home moms), a rubber band (flexibilty and the support HO gives us) and a London brochure (trip incentive).

Hope that helps! :)

any more suggestions for things to put in the Why bag?? I'm lovin this idea!!

Awesome Brownie Group:

Mini Muffin Pan
Spritzer
Cranberry Oven Mitt
Baker's Racks (2 of them)
Easy Accent Decorator
Food Prep Bowls
Zester
Flour Sugar Shaker
Microplane
Twixit clips

Pre-make brownies in the MMP and be sure to pre-spray with Baker's Secret or kitchen spritzer & flour the wells.

Press the tops with the tart-shaper when they come out of the oven. You'll need to dip the shaper in oil several times to get through the whole pan. Loosen the brownies with a citrus peeler after pressing.

Mix the 'tuxedo brownie' topping, which is
1 - 8oz. brick of cream cheese
opt. 2 teaspoons powdered sugar (to help soften cream cheese)
4oz. slowly melted white choc chips
1/2 a small tub of Cool Whip

Spread it into a plastic bag to show twixit clips, and the absolute fastest way to load the EAD. Uses twixit clips, too!

Zest a lemon or orange and sugar the zest in a prep bowl to make 'candied' zest.

Get a couple fresh berries

Slice some strawberries or small peeled kiwi

get some mini choc chips or mini M & M's

Microplane some shaved chocolate

Cocoa powder in Flour sugar shaker

make 1 brownie up:
Brownie
White Choc topping from EAD
Garnish with a berry & some candied zest
top with grated chocolate. MMMMmmmmmm!

>>let the Guests make up the rest<<

Every time I've done this, I've sold EAD, MMP, Baker's Rack. I also 'giveaway' the 50 MMP recipes, see attached.

Easiest sell group:

Food Prep Bowls
Bread Knife
Basil Blend Canola Oil
Garlic Infused Canola Oil
Rectangle Platter
Bar Board
loaf of french or Italian bread from grocery store

self explanatory - show both oils, and everyone can taste them. I just started doing this and am selling lots more oil than ever before!

For whatever reason, I had less success showing the Oil Dipping Set, possibly because it is only 1-use and the above isn't?!

Love the ideasI am loving the ideas. I am helping my director tomorrow night at our cluster meeting and am so going to suggest everyone do a Why Bag. Love it!

Mine is the large bar pan. I do the Aloha Pizza, using canned chicken and diced pineapples. A lot of my host's are and the run with sports and this helps make it a really quick dinner. I explain that the bar pan can make breakfast, lunch, dinner and dessert! So if their just starting their stoneware collection this is the pan.
Getting ready for my Sept.2 show, I've been selling 1yr. 1mth. and I'm still learning so much. This site has helped me 10 fold. Between Confrence and all I learned here and at my cluster meeting this show is going to be great!
