Reporting a Facebook PWS Violation: Has This Happened to You?

In summary, Heather reported a Facebook PWS violation, and received an email from H.O. accusing her of violating their policy. She responded to Donna, the woman from H.O., but is upset about the accusation. Anyone else have this happen to them?

I have to respectfully disagree with this statement.

Me too!

I have a great friendship with Vanessa that I met on here. We talk everyday and exchange gifts and all kinds of stuff. Sometimes more than my friends that live right up the road from me.

Also, I have another woman that I have been friends with for almost 5 years that I met online and we only talk online. The only time we have talked on the phone was when our children was born.

Also, I stay connect with alot of my lifelong friends via the internet. Sometimes we get to busy to do things in person but we catch a minute to chat or email.

Etta ... I'm not at odds with the policy, but I do disagree very strongly with the following:

I beg to differ.

I met my best friend on this planet on the internet. I have taken vacations with people I have met on the internet. Many of these friends met their spouses on the internet.

I would say that my relationships with these people are far more lasting and far more personal than any relationship with any of my customers.

I do understand that things posted online can be associated with things best not mentioned, and that is why I agree with the policy. However, I cannot fathom this distrust of the internet.

I've done this too! My best friend and I have taken several awesome vacations together! We also have 4 other girls that we correspond with alot too! In fact 2 yrs ago we all got together and had a fun weekend trip together.

The best one was last year I flew down to Ga to visit my bf with my 3 yr old, and me, her and her 3 kids (3, 7 & 10) drove to Mo to visit with another friend. She has a 3 & 5 yr old. All the kids had a BLAST! We did so much stuff with the kids. On the way back to Ga we stopped off in Tenn, and took them to the Chattanooga Aquarium & The Discovery Museum....both AWESOME!

It's really a fine line and I wish HO would clarify and give us more leeway. Online Network Marketing is here to stay and I wish we could use it more freely. I have many PC friends as my friends on FB and of course we are going to talk about shows and conference and stuff.

What are the ramifications of being in violation online? I'm also curious whether or not HO really follows up on these people that are reported. Anyone know?

YES they do follow-up. I participated in a vendor fair a couple years ago and they posted my website and info online on the vendor website - I did not know this until a few months later when I got an email from HO! It is a courtesy letter asking you to remove the info. They have a staff at HO which I am sure it is their whole job to find and take care of violations....and I'm sure they do not find them all. There are some consultants that can be very sneaky and find ways around this!

I have a wonderful facebook group with my other company. This is just PC"s policy and we must obide by it and respect it even if we do not quite understand.

They do follow through. You get a couple of warnings, and then they can terminate your consultant agreement.

Well, we know that PC monitors this board, so maybe we shouldn't be talking about this? Wouldn't surprise me a bit if they "caught" some of us who mentioned our violations or concerns. I really do think this is ridiculous that they don't just come up with guidelines about what we CAN do and loosen up a bit.

Linda, click on your link. It doesn't go where you think it does.

  • #209
Okay, warning. Not funny. Very bad link. DO NOT click on that. It's pornographic!!!!

  • #210
hmm. I clicked on it and took me to her page. let me close out and try again.

  • #211
OMG!!!! I bet she did that on purpose!!!

Here - just go to her main page, scroll down @ 1/3 of the page and read the answering fan mail part

there's also a comment from a CS member (evidently she's not a CS fan)

okay, so so so sorry everyone. I deleted both links since they seem to be going to nasty photos. just google her site 'open source cook' if you want to see what she's said about us. She is responding to our not so nice comments about her in a not so nice manner - I guess we asked for it when we started picking on her...

anyhow, I'm off here for while. I have some work to do and I'm taking DS to the BK playground for a while. catch ya'll later.

my filter at work blocked the link due to "sexual content".
Linda, I just clicked on the link you just posted.

  • #213
OMG! That is not right, I opened the link at work! You might want to delete your original link Linda, I didn't read all the way through the thread when I opened it.

  • #214
I deleted the first link - is the second one (post #211) going there too?

  • #215
No, the second link is fine. That first one was a doozy!:yuck:

  • #216
For those of you who haven't looked at this link I would suggest you do, there are alot of members comments on her website that are copied from here, ChefBecky, Ann, Janet...

She says she's been a consultant for only two months and no one has "bothered" to contact her regarding what the rules and procedures are, but she has not really bothered to follow what she DOES know.
I sent her a private email a few weeks ago when all this came to light because I was trying to be helpful and let her know, I figured she didn't know, but now that she DOES, she is just being disrespectful to "CP" as she calls it, because she doesn't want to mention "PC" (whatever) and I hope that HO does do something about this, just for principal sake.

And hey, OSC, if you are reading this, why don' t you actually POST something on here yourself instead of hiding behind your own website?

I just clicked the second link & got an eyeful! Thank Heavens my kids weren't in the room. I think you ought to double check (if you dare - lol) the 2nd link again.

SO SO SO SORRY everyone for the nasty links. She is evidenlty much more web savy that I am. All I did was copy and paste the link from her site. I've deleted both of them. If you want to see what she has to say, just google her site Open Source Cook. The comments are on there.

again - apologies!!!!

  • #219
What the heck, she posted something I said on there and I wasn't even being nasty as she pointed out above. All I did was mention that the recipes are copywrited (is that a word?). Wow, it has gone too far!

I think Greg needs to read her comments because she talks about him and this sites security.

I think that anyone who has a problem with her needs to report it to HO and not post anything more about it on this site.

I've read her comments. She is trying to hurt the site, but she won't. This is what happens to all successful and popular organizations. There are work a rounds to everything in life, and if you want to be the person that cheats through life then so be it. People who want to see CS stick around will continue to support it. I am sure of that. :)
