Prayer for Shoulder Pain Relief: Seeking Healing for My Bursitis

In summary, a woman is asking for prayers for her shoulder pain. She has been diagnosed with bursitis, and is looking into possible surgery. Her husband is worried about her ability to take care of the children.

I am asking for a prayer for my shoulder to stop hurting. I know it seems a little silly, but I would take child birth easily over this pain.

I went to the doctor last night and she told me I have bursitis in my shoulder. She went to check and see how far I could lift my arm and when she got to the pain part, I shot off the exam table and there were tears running down my face. I thought I was going to pass out from the pain.

I get to start taking heavy duty anti-inflamatory meds and she gave me vicodin for the pain (it doesn't help to much).:( If it doesn't get better in a week, I have to go back.

The really hard part is I can't even pick my boys up. I even tried to put away reams of copy paper today at work and couldn't do it, even one at a time.

Thanks!

This is certainly NOT silly! I'll lift you up in prayer! Thanks for letting us pray for you!

Pain is not silly... I hope you feel better soon!

I will pray for you! I can sympathize with shoulder pain. For 2 yrs I lived with unbearable pain in my right shoulder. My doctor kept referring me to one specialist after another...ended up on alot of heavy duty pain medications. Then 7 weeks ago I decided to give a chiropractor a try. Wouldn't you know it 7 weeks later and I am completely pain free and off the medications and didn't have any surgery.

I was just at the Ortho with my granny yesterday. She has been having shoulder pain for quite some time. Turns out it's her Rotator Cuff. I talked to the Dr. about it some too. Granny had Rotator Cuff sugery on the other shoulder about 15 years ago. My mom and uncle have both had Rotator Cuff repairs. My shoulder has been bothering my for about 2 years (just a dull ache) - my endocrinologist thought it could be related to my carpel tunnell issues. Well, according to the ortho doctor, Rotator Cuff problems are not hereditary but they are very common., They start out at Bursitis ans then turn into something else and then are usually diagnosed as Rotator Cuff and you have to have surgery to repair it. Sorry for the long diatribe here - have you talkedto the Dr, about Rotator Cuff and possibly Physical Therapy at this juncture?

I will pray for you- DH has the same thing, and acupuncture really worked wonders for him! Most insurance plans cover it now! :)

I pray your pain will lessen, and you will be healed from this issue! :)

Sending a prayer your way!

Update ~ Venting and a little longWell, I finally can not take it any longer. :( When I get off of work at 3:30 pm or sooner, if I can talk my boss into letting me go. I am walking into the ER and asking them to fix me. I work at a hospital, so all I have to do it walk across the street, don't have to worry about driving.

My DH witnessed me falling to the ground onto all fours at 11:00 pm last night, because of the pain. My dr, only prescribed an anti-inflamatory, that makes me drowsy, along with Vicodin. That is great for the weekend, but what about during the week, when I work? What about Sunday's when I am home with my children by myself?

MY DH is concerened I may have actually torn something and it is not Bursitis. I don't care what it is, I want something that will make me feel better. It hurts even to wear my bra, because of the pressure on my shoulder.

Please pray that I get in and out the ER in a quick fashion. I know that is somewhat an impossible request, because we are talking about an ER.:)

Thanks for letting whine and vent.

Laurie, I feel your pain. 2 years ago I slipped on ice in front of my house. I fell on my shoulder.l This was in January. Between January and September I kept going back to the doctor because of the pain. I couldn't lift my arm above my head. I was told I had carpal tunnel, tendonitis (sp) you name it.

I was finally sent to an ortho doctor and after he examined me, he said you should have been in here months ago. I had frozen shoulder. From the fall the muscles froze up and every time I tried to use it the pain was unbearable.

They sent me to physical thereapy and I have complete motion.

Hang in there, you will get better.

I would try going to a chiropractor. You've probably seen me post the perks of a chiropractor before, but I really believe in their ability to heal. If your bones are out of whack then that can pinch nerves, which will cause the muscle inflammation. In turn, you overcompensate with other muscles (rotator cuff) and end up causing yourself more injury than necessary. The rotator cuff is just 4 little bands of muscle that can't handle a lot of stress, that's why it is a common injury. Good luck!!!

Laurie, I understand your pain. I will pray for you.

I had shoulder surgury a little over a year ago for Bursitis and an impingement. After nearly a year of Physical Therapy I am now on my own w/a lot less pain. I now have full range of motion.

My mother had rotator cuff surgury about 4 years ago and needs her other shoulder done too. I was told I could possibly end up w/RC problems later in life, if I don't keep active.

I am now doing a home program of Turbo Jam Sculpt, this is w/3 lb. weights, right now. This will help me build muscle by strength training.
