I, too, appear to have an OS problem. I also have a nowhere-to-put-anything problem. I am currently bartering to get the office ("yes, buy the expensive tv and put it downstairs in the man cave - just give me full control of the office"). At the moment, I have Staples and WalMart bags scattered across my house. It looks like a back to school sale gone bad!
Reading this thread, I found out about Nancy's closing, so yesterday before work, I spent over $40 - on STICKERS. It's possible I may need help!

I can't even think of anything that would have offended. Don't worry about it! You were/are fine!

One thing you gotta realize on this site is that you gotta take everything with a grain of salt. It's sometimes hard to "hear" the tone something is meant in. Most of the time people are being kind and/or funny but it doesn't always come off that way.


PS: I would have given you a lot of info to read since you ASKED for it - but then that's me... Most want to spoon feed the info so it doesn't overwhelm (I only give bits here and there to most people too - btw).

You can order anything you want from anywhere you want... as long as you don't give anyone else PC's logo or tag line to use on the products. So, you can order business cards (or labels, stamps, letterhead, etc.) from Vista and use PC's name ONLY (provided you use the ® with the name). However, You CAN NOT use "discover the chef in you" or have them print the cards with the logo. Only authorized vendors can print materials with the logo and tag line. If you search in files, there should be examples of business cards that people have done not using an authorized vendor.

You CAN however use the logo that you download from CC on anything the YOU personally design and print. You can't give it to a printer to print for you, but you can do it yourself. So you can buy business card stock and print it on your own printer and you can use it on flyers that you take to Office Depot or other copy center to be copied for you.

I've done this and they were okay but didn't look very professional (at least mine didn't). I invested in the Merrill lapboards and feel it was so worth it. JMHO

(I used to be so "crafty" but somehow I lost my talent in that area...)

I also ordered a dozen from Merrill and am VERY happy with them. I did make some binder lapboards from binders and don't think they look nearly as professional but use them as overflow (for shows with more than 12 guests). The seam makes it really obvious what you did and over time the pocket tends to pull out from being stuffed. I think the homemade ones are a great started, but when you have money to reinvest, the Merrill ones are much more professional.

I think that happens because when you goof up, you're more relatable to the crowd. Think about the slick used-car salesperson. They've got their patter down, and are ready with a quick answer to anything. And you're not likely to want to buy anything from them. But by showing that you're just like the customers at a show, they can relate, and they feel good about buying from you.

I noticed on here that people prepare Outlet flyers or flyers with things that are being discontinued. To be honest, I have NEVER EVER received one of these all the years I've been going to these shows. What is your opinion on these? Do you hand them out at the VERY end of a show AFTER they've kind of made up their mind or not at all?

I have mixed feelings on this. The great thing is maybe a customer would order even MORE product because its being discontinued or it seems to be such a bargin. The bad thing, I would think, would be people would be discouraged from buying full priced items and would expect that flyer to be at every show.

What's the dill-ee-o, Ladies? What do you suggest?

I think the last month of a season it makes sense to share the list of discontinued products, I'm not sure I'd have the products being restyled on it or not. I think it is a great way to add to sales for a show. The outlet information I email to past guests/hosts occasionally to remind them to check out the outlet regularly.

You can get a PWS (personal website) as soon as you get your Pampered Chef debit card number (or they might have changed things and let new consultants use their personal credit card, I'm not sure).

Until you qualify (4 shows or $1250 in sales) your website will only work for getting orders for shows. After you qualify people will be able to place individual orders and bridal registries.

Does everyone pass around some binder thingy with stuff in it? If so, what are you putting in it? Im guessing hostess specials, new consultant stuff and maybe a paystub but as a beginner, being poor and all, what do I put in it? Visuals are always good, Im assuming!
