Christ Follower said:Tonight is the first night of Awana at church (I'm the Cubbies Director) and it'll be CRAZY! Then I have a show on Thursday and a show on Friday then DD's soccer on Saturday!
jrstephens said:Tonight is our first night too. I am a helper with Sparks. I am Sparky. I love it! We have several new ones coming up that I am worried about how big of a handful they are going to be! Last year all of our kids were great but these are known for acting up. The Leader is out preacher's wife, so, I think she will be able to keep them under control.
My son is in Cubbies. He has not been feeling good this week but insist he can go. He had a bad sinus infection. I am going to let him go since he is not contagious and he is SO EXCITED that it is starting back!!! All he has wanted all summer is for AWANA to start back.
Christ Follower said:I love Awana but last year was kinda stressful. I didn't have enough help and was trying to fill several roles at once. This year I declared (to God) that I wasn't going to try to run Cubbies "on my own," and if it were going to continue, He'd have to provide. Well, he did! I have 5 leaders and 2 helpers besides myself so this year I can actually be the Director and not the Director, book time leader, crafts coordinater, etc. I can't wait!
jrstephens said:Our classes to go to different people for games. Most of the time we do not do crafts. Our Sparks Leader does the Lesson, then we divide into groups to go over the Handbook. Then they leave us to go to game time. They come back to us for a few minutes at the end and we will do a craft then if we have time. usually we use that as time to remind them of things and make sure we have all their awards and all down. We have a Leader and 3 helpers in our class. We usually have a bou 10 kids.
How many do yall have? Must be a lot with all those workers.
We go from 615 to 800. We back it up up 15 minutes this year to try to not seem so rushed.
We are starting Puggles this year for the 2 and early 3 year olds. My son went into Cubbies last year at 2, so, he will stay in there this year.
I agree with this.JaimeQ said:I need some color.... it's a long way to go though

Post slut is actually anyone who posts drivel for the sole purpose of getting their post count up. Sound familiar? It's a cleaned up version of the actual phrase, which is "post wh*re."
