katie0128 said:My FIL does our taxes and since he is a CPA, CFA and VP of Finance for his company, so technically we have a CPA doing our taxes.
The rule-of-thumb that he goes by is that he will let me deduct as a business expense the portion of any bill/expense that is specifically for PC. So if 90% of your cell phone and internet usage is for your business, then deduct 90%.
HOWEVER, while cheffers wouldn't purposely tell you something incorrect, before you take advice from anyone on Chef Success, check with a local tax expert in your area. Some rules and allowances can vary by state and it is always best to ask someone in your area.

This decision ultimately depends on your personal preference and level of comfort with tax laws and regulations. Some individuals may feel confident in doing their own taxes, while others may feel more comfortable hiring a professional accountant to ensure accuracy and maximize deductions.
If you have a complex tax situation, such as owning a business, multiple sources of income, or significant investments, it may be beneficial to hire an accountant. They can provide valuable expertise and guidance to ensure all tax laws are followed and deductions are properly claimed.
An accountant can save you time and stress by handling all the paperwork and calculations for you. They can also provide valuable insights and advice on how to minimize your tax liability and maximize deductions. Additionally, hiring an accountant can give you peace of mind knowing your taxes are handled accurately and efficiently.
The cost of hiring an accountant for your taxes can vary depending on your location, the complexity of your tax situation, and the services provided. However, the benefits and potential tax savings from hiring an accountant may outweigh the cost for some individuals.
Pampered Chef does not offer any specific resources or discounts for tax preparation. However, as an independent consultant, you may be able to deduct certain business-related expenses on your taxes. It is always best to consult with a tax professional for guidance on what expenses may be deductible for your business.
