I thought I'd start this thread to rate the recipes in the Season's Best S/S 2006.
I just made the Quick Chicken Primavera Risotto for dinner tonight and it was delicious! My kids (1 & 4) ate it, so it had to have been good. It made quite a lot and I have enough for another dinner.
I did vary the recipe slightly. I made rice in the Rice Cooker Plus (1 cup uncooked rice, 2 cups water, a little butter - 5 minutes on high, then 15 minutes on 50% power) and I used cream cheese instead of mascarpone cheese. Next time I'll break the cream cheese into smaller lumps so it will melt easier. I paired this with my homemade version of focaccia.
I'm going to try the Gnocchi and the Warm Chocolate Hazelnut Cake later this week. I've been making cream puffs for family dinners lately so I'm excited to see the Profiterole Puffs recipe and I will try this soon. I bake mine on the bar pan (they are super-sized!) and use whip cream. I will have to try them in the mini muffin pan next time, more to snack on.
Looking at the rest of the cookbook, I've made the Mango Salsa Sundaes and they were yummy. I just made cinnamon tortilla chips as dippers.
I'd like to hear what others have to say.
