Hi all,
I'm coming and asking for prayer, I don't know what's wrong with my face, but the one side is swollen twice the size it should be.

On Tues. evening, I thought I had a toothache, well by yesterday I was sure I had an abcessed tooth, couldn't get it with the dentist until today at 11:50 am, well I don't want to wait that long, in case it's not an abcess.

I'm very concerned!! My glasses are setting "funny" on the right side as my cheek is swollen so large. I'm swollen down into my neck and up around my eye. I've got a head ache and my eye even hurts.

I'm thinking of driiving to dentist's office and being there when she opens and then if I need to see a real MD, then I still have a chance of getting in with one.

Please pray for this whole situtation!! Margo is going to be not happy Mommy isn't ready to play today and I've got invites to get in mail, shopping for weekend shows and then 2 shows this weekend and a party for cluster mate.

Hope I can feel well enough to do any of it.

Thanks for the prayers,

Lisa

Lisa~

Get to your dentist! I can't believe they were making you wait that long! Hopefully, if you show up there they can do something right away!

Sound slike you have an infection - my neighbor's daughter had the same thing a few months ago - they put her on strong antibiotics and she both felt & looked better in a few days.
Get well soon!!

Denitist just called, she wants me to head to a walk in or see my regular doctor, if infection is this bad, I might need IV antibiotics, gulp, I HATE needles. So I'm printing my invites to mail and getting labels ready while Margo is eatting her breakfast, then I'm heading for a walk in, as of course, it's Thursday morning and my doctor doesn't see patients on Thurs AM, he's doing hospital rounds and clinics in med. schools.

Margo wants to know if she can kiss my boo boo better, wish it could

Lisa

Lisa, you'll be in my prayers.

Good Luck Lisa! I'm so sorry to hear of this! Please let us know what happens!

Good luck Lisa. If they do give you an IV for the antibiotics, just think of how much faster your body will absorb them and you will start feeling better a lot quicker!

Pray ing for nyou.

Sending good thoughts your way! And, I know that stuff always looks and feels much worse than it is.

I had almost the exact same thing happen last week. I had extreem pain on the right side. We weren't sure if it was sinus or dental related. I went to the Dr and to the ENT he took xrays... before he could get back to me I ended up having to go to the ER and get cat scans done. Those showed that it was a really bad sinus infection. The ENT did a horror movie type procedure to try to drain my sinuses... not the problem. Ended up with a root canal on Friday. Did I mention that the San Francisco trip was this past weekend? Yea, I went anyway, just a date late. I spend a fair amount of time on drugs and the heating pad in my room. Today a week later I finially feel human again. The plus side... I lost 5 pounds!

Get medical attention NOW! I hope all goes well for you.

Update........longWell I went to walk in, was NOT impressed, doctor gave me a script for Penicillin (sp) and for pain, as I'm allergic to Tylenol, he gave me vicoprofen and combo of Vicadin and Ibuprofen (sp). He did NO x-rays, even though I asked for them, he didn't even check my ears. Just pushed on my cheek (ouch doesn't describe!!) and then banged on a few of my teeth to tell me "Yep, you've got an infection" Well DUH I knew that. When I asked him about the penicillin (as lower meds don't usually work for me) I asked him about Augmentin (which I don't like, but usually clears things up) he said "Why prescribe a $100.00 med when a $10.00 one will work!" Patted my back and walked out.

So I got outside, called my dentist who was very upset, and she told me to still keep my appt and see her.

She immediately gave me script for the Augmentin. Couldn't take x-ray, as I literally could not open my mouth to get film in my mouth,

Well in meantime, my hubby Bill had called my sister who’s an ER nurse in another state to ask her opinion.

Last night was girls Open House at school, so I missed that, as I was in no shape to go to that. While Bill and kids are there my phone rings, it’s my sister, asking me ?? and then YELLING at me to get to ER right NOW, as with as swollen as I was and it was going up past my eye and even down my neck and it was like I’d had Novocain with my nose tingling, she was very adamant that I get there RIGHT NOW, so I had to call Bill to come home early and pick up his mom on the way so he could take me.

Got to ER last night at 7:54, got checked in around 8:30 (what’s wrong and took vitals) and then told wait back in waiting room and we’ll get you in. Well pain meds wore off and no one called me yet, finally at 10 pm, I had Bill go ask, are you getting her in or what, if not she’s taking a pain pill and you’ve got no say in it. The nurse at the desk leaned close and said Mr. McVaugh your wife isn’t to take any meds while in waiting room, (in whisper) but if for some reason she does she just needs to let them know when she gets back there. So Bill got me drink and PB Cup so I’d have “food” with it.

It was almost 11:30 before I was finally taken to a room and nurse came and did vitals and after midnight before Doc came through. They took about 6 vials of blood (to make sure infection not in bloodstream) and also to check something as my blood pressure was 162/120! Even Pregnant I’ve never had that high of blood pressure.

Anyway, they gave me intravenous pain meds that they told me might make me light headed for a few minutes. I thought I was going to fall out of bed with sides up, it made me feel awful. Now mind you, I’m a bigger girl, and that was just like the worst sensation ever. I told Bill, I couldn’t see why people did drugs, ‘cause if this was the feeling it gave, NOT for me!!

About 2:20 this morning they released me after a course of IV antibiotics and I’ve got to call an Oral Surgeon this morning and do follow up with him, not my regular dentist. Bill heard doc telling nurse, that she was glad I had a sister who’s a nurse, as they could have had serious problems had I not come in.

So keep prayers coming. Bills working today on about 3-4 hours of sleep and He’s going to my show with me tonight, to help me carry things and load and such.

Thanks again,

Lisa

Thanks so much for prayers and thoughts, it helps. I'm moving very slow today and not bending over if I can help it, almost fell over.

Called Oral Surgeon's office today and I can't get in until Monday, and they said it might be a doubel edged sword, as it'll give antibiotic time to work and hopefully get swelling down.

I'm praying for easy weekend with pain, lol. Not so good today.

Margo keeps wanting to kiss it better. Prayers also for 3 girls, they freaked last night on mil when I had to go to hospital, as last person they know/relate to that went to hospital was my bil and he passed away, so they were terrified no matter what assuring she gave them. They all came running in this morning and just hugged me and cried, Megan my oldest didn't want to go to school today, she wanted to stay home and take care of Mommy.

I'll keep you updated as I go, time for sleepy pill so I can get some rest before my show tonight.

Hugs,
Lisa

Update: Feeling much betterHI all,
I want to thank everyone for the good thoughts and prayers!!

It's been a rough week, but finally the swelling in my face is going down, the pain is allot less, only hurts when I try to chew  (so I'm hoping I'm loosing weight!!) so I'm not eatting as much!

I had to go on Monday to see the Oral Surgeon who sent me to the Endodontist (sp) and he opened the tooth on Monday and got allot of the infection out and relieved allot of the pressure I was feeling. He started a root canal and put in a medicated filling and now I wait until early June for him to finish it up (his first available appt.) and God willing I won't have any other problems.

Now if I could just get 2 things to happen:

1 - Margo not to try and kiss my boo boo better my slamming my face and

2 - get that taste of cloves out of my mouth!! I don't know why when they put in the medicated fillings in me, it makes me feel like I'm tasting cloves, don't get me wrong, I like cloves in the right recipe, but not just to "chew" on one in my mouth and that's what it tastes like I'm doing.

From what Bill told me, last night even during the night, I was talking in my sleep about the cloves and what could I do to take that taste away.

Thanks again and I just praise God for getting me through my 2 shows this weekend, not my best in sales, but I kept the show/sales so that's great.

Have to run and submit my shows. I tried on the 30th in the evening and couldn't connect with the server. Had to call yesterday about it and was told well we had no problems with the server, so it must have been you and then I had appts. yesterday that I didn't get them in yesterday, so they'll go in today, so my April totals suck :( , but my May's will look GREAT :) !!

Lisa - call HO again - there WERE problems on the 30th and HO said to contact them if you had issues - you should have had an e-mail, I had one. They should be able to maybe adjust the dates on there end if you contact them again today.

Just FYI, I promise there is a light at the end of this tunnel. I am about a week ahead of you on the root canal. (sounds like your was a bit worse, but it was similar) my mouth is finally feeling better. Even after I got hit in the face with the choo choo train today. And the clove taste, I had that too, but just the day they worked on it. Must be the antiseptic or something.

I hope when you are feeling better you let your doctor know that he dropped the ball on this one.

Feel better soon!
