Wow! I was sitting on the coach and all the sudden it was moving back & forth, side to side. I woke up my husband and he thought I was crazy! That is until the news confirmed an earthquake in OK that was felt here in Kansas City, MO.

I feel them all the time. But I think most are in my head after going through so many in Japan.

We felt it here in North Central Kansas as well!

Felt it in Sterling, KS

I heard this a.m. that some in SW Wisconsin felt it as well. WOW! It has been years since I felt an earthquake. That was back in the late 70's. (Dang I am sure getting old!) And Sheila, are you saying that you are just a shaky kind of gal?

I'm sitting on a donated couch that rocks. 2-3 times a month it feels like a small earthquake sitting in this chair. I've actually checked the blinds a few times to catch the cords gently swaying. Very small ones, but the chair seems to enhance the feeling & make it more noticeable than I think it would be otherwise.

That has to be a very odd feeling for you especially. I do not think I could live with thinking a quake was coming because of an oddball couch. Although I must admit that when it storms here and the way it "feels" outside brings me to look for the rotations. I have lived to tell about 4 tornadoes so I guess that must be pretty much the same thing. What is that saying? "once bitten twice shy". That ominous feeling never leaves us apparently. I still have a ton of admiration for you going through all that crap. By the way, is hubby still here or did he have to get back? And are you staying or going. I know how much you still must be missing your home. Especially now that you own a non-earthquake proof couch!

Awe, thanks. An no, the children and I are not returning to Japan. We are staying here in TX. Hubby started the ERD paperwork, but then had to leave Japan on a military thing. So it's on hold waiting for him to finish his assignment & return to Japan. Hoping he can get everything packed out in December & headed my way.And I know what you mean with tornadoes too! Dallas is in Tornado Alley and I've lived through a few! LOL Actually, when my sister was here this summer, we walked out of a restaurant & I had that feeling. I rushed home to learn we were under a Tornado Watch, which turned to a warning right after we walked into the house. The city's civil defense sirens went off & then my alarm panel alerted me of the weather alert. So I can sense those suckers too! I'll go start a new thread on the latest news in Japan so we don't completely take over this thread.
