Director Training: How to Help Our Teams Survive the Summer

In summary, the conversation discusses various ideas for promoting and improving business during the summer months. These ideas include offering prizes for bingo games, resuming the "0s" (zero sales) for consultants with potential rewards, promoting summer bookings with a party bucket incentive, starting a Consultant Cooking Club, using Party Sticks to hold down a vinyl tablecloth for beach parties, and organizing a retreat for consultants to focus on their business. These ideas were shared by various individuals, including Maggie, Alice, Melissa, Jane, Sherri, and Future Director Kathryn Wigginton's husband Brent Wigginton.

There are prizes for each bingo and a larger one for coverall.

*Resume the “0s” over the summer months. If the consultant succeeds they earn new nametags, small gift certificate, or an evening of drinks and appetizers. Thanks to Bonnie, Sherri & Melissa.

*To promote summer bookings, offer a party bucket to those who book that night. Maggie visited a dollar store and filled a sand bucket with a variety of items. With this idea, she has booked 9 June shows.

*Establish a Consultant Cooking Club. It has proven very popular with Melissa/Jane/Sherri’s teams and the summertime with its relaxed feel may be the perfect time to start one. You need 10 consultants who meet once a month to play with tools and assemble recipes. They each pay $15 to the “host” of the month who uses the money to purchase tools s/he may not already own.

*To promote our summer entertaining product, the Party Sticks, Melissa makes this suggestion. Purchase a cheap vinyl tablecloth. Put grommets in the corners. The Party Sticks hold the tablecloth down while holding drinks. Perfect for the beach!

*Here is another way to make the show more interactive as suggested by Maggie. She types the recipe steps on individual cards which have been laminated. As guests enter the show, they can browse through the cards and choose one or two. The consultant has the master recipe and coordinates the recipe assembly.

The cards could even be have velcro attached to their backs and then firmly attached to a board that travels to your shows. The board could also hold the nametags used at each show.

*Host a retreat for consultants where they can focus in on PC for 1-2 days. Melissa & Sherri are headed to Hilton Head with their teams where they will learn more about goal setting, personal responsibility and coaching from their guest speaker, Brent Wigginton. (For more information, contact him at 407-412-7034 or premier-concepts.org. He is also the husband of Future Director Kathryn Wigginton.
