Tips for Hosting a Profitable Kids Birthday Party | Ideas & Inspiration

In summary, a friend of mine wants to do a party for her 5 year old daughter and hates to think of the money...but it would be nice to at least break even. She is trying to find ways to make money on the party. Any ideas appreciated.

Has anyone ever done one of these? A friend of mine wants to do one for her 5 year old daughter. Hate to think of the money...but it would be nice to at least break even....how in the world could one make money on this? Any ideas appreciated.

To me it sort of sounds like she is trying to use you to cater the event for her... I would offer her some recipes that she herself could make and just tell her you don't do things like this. Just my 2 cents... sorry.

I agree with Alison.
Offer her some recipes, maybe even offer some catalogs and tell her she could do a catalog party with the parents as they are dropping off/picking up their kids. She might even have higher sales if she uses some PC recipes. For you to go and do a party for 5 year olds seems a bit silly to me. I think the kids would be really bored.

I agree with Allison and Jolene, give her some recipes and catalogs. It is one thing to do a "Mommy & me" party but something totally different to be the entertainment at a 5 yr olds b-day party.

Depends on what she is looking for. I say go for it if the parents will be staying. Instead of cooking, let the kids play. Set up stations with different products & non food items.

playdough - baker's roller, creative cutters, my safe cutter, etc.
water & glitter in qsp
colored rice (add small amt. of food coloring to dried rice & shake to coat)- measuring cups, spoons, colander/bowl set, etc.

OR...have everyone make their own ice cream sundae (I used to do this at kid's night @ Chick-fil-a- the kids loved it)

ice cream dipper
food chopper - oreos
ead - cool whip
small bowl & caddy, small bamboo spoon - sprinkles & nuts
my safe cutter - bananas
sweet sprinkles
prep bowl, tongs - cherries
dcgrater - choc. chips

Each child can receive a prep bowl filled with M&M's & my safe cutter in treat bag with mini catalog (for mom).
