Throwing a Pampered Chef Bridal Shower Without Shipping Fees

In summary, some people are complaining that the "guests" have to pay shipping on anything they order for the bride-to-be. The maid of honor is feeling "bad" because she is the one who is responsible for making sure everyone who attends the shower pays shipping. There are ways to order so that everyone who buys something doesn't have to pay $4.00 shipping, but people get over the $4.00.

I'm throwing a PC bridal shower for my BF who I also work with. I'm inviting the majority of the people we work with (20 or more) and I've been getting some negative comments about the fact that the "guests" have to pay shipping on anything they order for her. Quite a few people have commented that they'd rather go to Target, BBB, etc. to get a gift where one doesn't have to pay shipping.

Since I'm the maid of honor, her BF, the one who's giving the shower AND the PC consultant, I'm feeling a little "bad" for lack of a better word. Is there any way to order so that everyone who buys her something doesn't have to pay $4 each time? Any suggestions are very welcome and appreciated. Thanks!

maybe you could remind them of the price of a gallon of gas....and how many gallons of gas it might take to go to these other stores......

There are consultants who do put all the bride's gifts on one order. Personally, I do seperate orders so the bride knows who purchased what and the guest has a record of their purchase. You could always tell them to go all in together to get one gift or a bunch of little items if they really don't want to purchase seperate.

Not to mention the time they spend out there driving and shopping at the store. You're saving them time AND money this way!!

I agree. In this day and age (dates me, huh?) people are always ordering online and paying tons of shipping. If they go to a store to buy a gift they have to drive there ($$) and wrap the gift ($$). Point out that they are actually saving money. Do they expect the gifts to arrive from Chicago for free? This kind of attitude is what is going to make our shipping costs to rise even more.

Great points made by the others.

Seriously --- I think people complain just to complain about SOMETHING!. Afterall---this is their friend right? And these are items SHE wants....the items HAVE a warranty---sheesh!

People get over the $4.00.

I have a feeling that $4.00 will be going up this year...ask them what they pay for shipping from Tastefully Simple or Tupperware---I reckon its nearly $8-$10!

I need a replacement lid from Tupperware on something I bought about a year ago. The lid is free, but shipping is $4.82!!!!! On something that probably costs $2 or less to mail.
