In summary, Tarawelcome! It took Taraweight months to get to where she doesn't feel a bit worried/desparate about her show schedule. She also recommends playing a booking game to increase show bookings.

Hey all,

What a great community. I am so glad I found you...

Just joined PC at the end of Feb and my 30 days is up on the 26th. I have my four shows booked which is super exciting but none past those so I am really depending on those shows to provide some bookings.

I was wondering how long did it take you to get up to your desired show schedule? I work full-time so would prefer 4 shows month. I would be delighted to have that off the bat but think that may be wishful thinking.

Thanks,
Tara

welcome! I started dec! I am the sameway, work FT, and want 4 shows. Have you done all four of your shows yet? If so you could have a mystery hostess party. It's at your house or whereever and you invite past hosts, and customers or new customers and they get chances to win for certain things. if they rsvp that is one chance, bring a friend 2 chances, book a show 5 chances. i had one in jan and i got 3 bookings off of it. but they aren't until may. so i did the 24 in 24. 24 bookings in 24 hours. call everyone you know and offer a shopping spree with PC. I did that, offered a $50 for those that book a show at that time and HOLD the show, I got 6 shows from that. ask everyone! i average about 4 shows a month some of them are usually catalog shows, but hey they count!

Don't mean to discourage you, but I've been doing this 1.5 years and had five shows already this month (within seven days) and NOTHING until one show in late April. I try to be consistent with my calls but it's hard to get the bookings as consistent as I like.

I think it took me about 8-10 months to get where I didn't feel a bit worried/desparate about the show schedule. Even now, without much on the books, I know that it will all work out okay and am going to enjoy the break. I also have done a few shows that have kept new blood in my hosts. It's hard to be consistent if you have the same people at all your shows....Good luck and welcome....

Thanks for the input. I figured it might take a few months to get a basically regular schedule.

I have only hosted 1 show so far, with one this Friday and two more next week. The first on and the one this Friday will have low attendance but as long as they qualify as a show I will be happy. I consider these my practice shows.

However, I am really looking forward to my shows next week. My Thursday show has 13 people confirmed to attend and since I only know the host, I see massive booking potential. Actually, same with my Friday show, I know only the host. It we be great to break out of friends and family sphere as early as possible.

I have been selling PC a year this month... I have three shows this month..... I just recurited my first recurit this month!!! When I stated last year I wanted to do four shows a month..... it didnt' happen... until My Feb shows..... Youhave to be conistent on host coaching... when your doing shows..... try a little booking game... like I have three boxes that I put a date that I want to book a show on.. and then inside the box their is a product that they get if they book and hold the show.. whatever is inside the box they get.......I got bookings off of Feb shows for March.... Book the month that you want booked before you start lets say booking for July..... and if you dont'have get this CD Booking Stragies from the Pro's.... It has some really great ideas for bookings!!

Talk about your Pampered Chef business where ever you go. I just started a couple months ago and find that my enthusiasm makes it easy to bring it into any converstation! Always have something with a PC icon visible. You would be surprised! Sometimes you find hosts that you never would have thought to be interested. I have a show scheduled for a guy that repairs car bumpers for a place I work! Turns out he's an everyday chef! Also making sure you mention hosting and recruiting to all your guests is a good way to keep your schedule full. Good Luck!

Tara,

I think 4 shows per month is VERY doable.... set your goal to get 2 bookings from each show that would give yo eight shows - I would schedule them out over the next 6 weeks (allowing 2 for cancellations) - you would be working your business right where you wnat it....

Some of us STILL don't have the show schedule that we want - but we keep at it..

Do a search in files for how to get bookings - that alone will keep you reading for the next 6 months :D

Ask us questions and bounce ideas off of us... your fellow cheffers

Good Luck and welcome to the board and PC;)

This is a great thread. I have a show on Monday, one on the 30th, and one catalog going right now...I so need bookings from these shows!

I saw an acquantaince at the mall today. She moved to a new house a few months after I started selling and so didn't want to book a show. I was in a rush today so didn't talk long but as I walked away she said, "I found your business card just last week and was thinking about you." I'm sure now is the time to get her to do a show.

My point is that you are planting seeds all the time. I have WAY, WAY more people I need to call about doing a show than I have time to call since I only get about 30 minutes in the evening a few nights a week. Consistency is the key that I have yet to find. (BTW, I should make my first $1000 check this month!)

Congratulations on starting your business!
I would take all the advice already given here, but add that you don't want to just rely on your shows to get you more bookings.............get on the phone as much as possible, ask EVERYONE if they are interested. Even if they aren't willing to do a show, they will probably pass along your info, place an order here or there that you can add to others to submit as a show.
I've also started carrying the mini catalogs with me, and hand them out everywhere.......cashiers, waitresses, etc.
Also, have fun with it. It will show, and others will be intersted more in it!:p
