Staged Show in Front of 200 People !!!

In summary, Victoria is looking for ideas for a "wow" factor for her upcoming speaking engagement. She wants something different that will make her audience want to book a show with her. She suggests doing something no-bake that is appropriate for school lunches. Debbie suggests ideas for demos that are creative and will make the audience want to do business with PC.

Is there anyone who can HELP!!!
Looking for advise how to use 20 min slot on stage wisely.
Do I try for show bookings if so how?
Do I try recruiting bids? What should I say?
Is there anything scripted that I could use?
What should I take with me to demonstrate.
Please HELP!!

Wow! I'm in the same boat here. I have a "speaking engagement" next month, for a Christian women's luncheon. Expected attendance is roughly 165. I will have 15 minutes to "talk", and can give out catalogs, but cannot take orders. They want a "demo", just something to "entertain". I will not be actually feeding them, as they have a lunch right before; however, I am allowed door prize slips, and will give away FREE cooking shows as I choose. (You know...everyone is a winner, right? wink wink! lol)

I did one of these a few months ago, to the same organization, but a different location. There were approximately 50 in attendance. I gave everyone a catalog, then did a "veggie" demo of various appetizers from an old PC cookbook...garnishing techniques, etc.

Anyway, this time I'd really like to do something that involves kids school lunches, since the time is early September.
So far, I've been able to come up with the cut-n-seal sandwiches, as well as the core and more for apples and plums, and the apple wedger.

What I'm looking for is something of a "wow" factor, something that would make them really want to book a show with me, something "different", that would make them want our PC tools.....know what I mean?

If you have any suggestions that would go along with this idea, please let me know.
I will only have a few minutes, and no oven or microwave to use, so it all has to be of the "no-bake" variety.

Thanks so much, all you "creative minds" out there!!

Imagine yourself in the audience and what it is that you would want to hear. Also, check out the new "Now more than ever" highlight on Consulant's Corner (it's the box on the top left). It discusses the needs so many are facing in the current economy...and how Pampered Chef is meeting those needs.

Think what will make your audience want to do business with PC and you? Identify their needs and then show how you can help.

I don't know if you have the economy issues we're having in the States, but people always appreciate a good value...which we are.

Thanks. It is always a good idea to put yourself in the guests' shoes, I agree.

I would really like other demo ideas, if you have any....no bake things, suitable for school lunches is my idea....

How about cutting up veggies w/ the crinkle cutter to pack in the lunchbox?
Slice strawberries in the egg slicer plus.
Mix the sprinkles into yogurt for a fruit dip.
Scrambled egg in the prep bowl in the microwave -- have pre done. This is a great 1 minute breakfast, rolled in a piece of bread, taken to go. Have egg, and mix ins (shredded cheese, peppers etc) in prep bowls in fridge, and let kids mix thier own.
Out on a limb here, but how about the can opener and strainer for tuna? Streamline morning time.

Hope this helps.

How about doing a little research about our popular recipes and actually totalling it up for your audience. Talk about how delicious, fast and easy our recipes are plus they won't break the bank. I see that alot in magazines and I like it. Everything is broken down.

Put a little of everything in there. I would talk about the great host benefits, plus becoming a consultant. Maybe giving a little intro about yourself and why you decided to start your own business.

Debbie :D

I would spend a few minutes talking up the sets, too. Even though you may not be able to take orders right then it generates the interest.

Good luck! What a great opportunity. Legacy's advice is very good...imagine that you were a guest. What would a speaker need to say to spark your interest?

Great ideas! Thanks, everyone, I really appreciate it!!!

I didn't think of the can strainer/tuna before, that is a really good idea. Maybe I'll take an empty, washed out tuna can, for a quick "air demo" of that one!!

The prep bowl for scrambled eggs idea made me smile...I already do that almost everyday for myself!! lol

If anyone else has any other recipe ideas, I'm certainly all ears!!

Thanks so much!!
