It's been fifty years, today, since President John F. Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas, Texas. It was one of those events where everyone remembers where they were, and what they were doing, when the news broke. I was in school, returning from noon recess and getting ready for afternoon classes, when I heard the distressing news.
The entire country ground to a halt for four days, first the shock and disbelief that the president had been cut down. We saw the assassin murdered, live on television, by nightclub owner, Jack Ruby. We watched the miles of people waiting in line to pay tribute to the slain president's coffin in the capitol rotunda. And we watched the funeral procession, with the haunting drum tattoo accompanying the horse-drawn caisson carrying the coffin, to President Kennedy's grave at Arlington National Cemetery.
CBS News, in honor of the anniversary, is going to stream the entire CBS News four day, wall to wall coverage, of the assassination. It will begin at 1:38 PM Eastern Standard Time, the exact moment that CBS News interrupted regular broadcasting to bring the announcement to the nation.
All of the 50th anniversary coverage will be available here:

The streaming coverage will be directly available here beginning on Friday, Nov. 22:
