Psa: Yahoo, Aol and Ms Messengers Are Not Going Away

I usually just delete them with out even opening them anymore. I have told my friend about snopes, but for some reason he seems to believe my life is in constant danger of upheaval.

If you haven't already received this notice, you probably soon will.

One of your well-meaning, but gullible friends, will soon be sending you an IM all in a panic that YIM is going away on August 17, so you better save your message, address book, yada yada yada.

It's a hoax. This one has been around for about 10 years and is making a comeback. In the past, it's been AOL, Microsoft IM or others, right now, it's Yahoo Messenger that is the victim.

Just delete it, but if you're really nice, refer your gullible friend to snopes.com

Oh goodness. I have a friend who forwards me EVERYTHING! I ususally delete with out even opening them anymore. I have told him about snopes, but for whatever reason he seems to believe my life is in constant danger of upheaval.

I too delete the "Chicken Little...the sky is falling" e-mails. Also delete ANYTHING that says "I want this back","National Friendship Week" or religious titles. (I believe in a Higher Power/God...but it is my own business, between me and the Big Guy or Girl or Being!)

I have not IM'd in such a long time. Too busy. My free time is spent here on CS and now DS.

I verify ALL chicken little e-mails with snopes.com and then hit reply to all when I find out that it is BS. One e-mail infuriated me. The one where it says to wash your bras before using them. DO NOT look this up on snopes unless you have a strong stomach. That is an e-mail I passed on a link to and asked people to NOT forward and warned not to look at the pictures. (I can hear you clicking and going there right now...just know...you have been warned:cry: :yuck:

Don't people usually wash their newly-purchased undergarments before wearing them anyway? Brand-new clothes are so full of sizing and other stuff they spray on to make them travel well from the factory and look good on display (not to mention people trying them on, too), that they're disgusting!

Yes...this is a "bad car wreck" that doesn't need to be observed...whether people do or don't wash thier garments before wearing...sending that e-mail around was something I wanted to stop. If they wanted to send the e-mail, that is one thing, but the images were sent too and it is just not necessary to send such disturbing pictures...when it was all NOT true.

Okay, it's too appealing now. I have to check it out!!

Don't complain afterward!

Wow!! Those are some serious pictures! YUCK! The maggot brain was truly disturbing. I just skimmed the story, but it seems like the guy was just living with his head looking like that. How in the world do you just ignore the fact that your head is being eaten away?

I have a pretty strong disposition. However; my boys (10 and 8) got up today and wanted to cook breakfast for everyone. Needless to say, I passed on the omelet.

Yes, you got me to look. That is really disgusting and a shame how people tend to pass crap on like that - I refer to snopes very regularly.

(I decided to not spend time reading the maggot one)
