Neuroblastoma is a type of cancer that develops from immature nerve cells. It usually occurs in young children and can be found in various parts of the body, most commonly in the abdomen, chest, neck, or spinal cord.
A relapse occurs when the cancer comes back after a period of remission. In this case, Laura had been in remission since 2008, but the cancer has returned and she will need to undergo treatment again.
Laura is currently 7 years old and was first diagnosed with Neuroblastoma in 2008 when she was only 3 years old.
NED means that there is no sign of cancer in the body. It is significant because it means that the treatment was successful in getting rid of all the cancer cells and the person is considered to be in remission.
The best way to help and support Laura and her family is to offer your thoughts and prayers for a successful treatment and quick recovery. You can also reach out to them with kind words, offer to help with daily tasks, or provide emotional support. Additionally, you can donate to cancer research or a charity that supports families affected by cancer in honor of Laura.
