prayers neededwe don't have a prayer section here, but I would like to ask for some for my Dad. He was diagnosed last week with diffused large cell lymphoma and is currently in the hospital. He had 2 stints put in today because the bile ducts leaving his lever were being pressed on and blocked. That went well, but now it is just a matter of can we get him well enough to be a candidate for the chemo he would need. He is 80 and may decide that that isn't the path he wants to take. I am pretty sure what I am feeling is normal, but I WANT MY DAD TO LIVE FOREVER! :cry:
My Mom needs me to be the strong one, so that is taking a toll on my well-being. Because my background is in the medical world, I understand alot that they don't, so they turn to me for answers to questions and sometimes, I just don't have them. I have been making sure that when I loose it, I am at home with DH...who, BTW, has been a ROCK!
Just pray that my Dad has peace with whatever decision he makes and that my family has the strength to support that decsion.

My Dad is in better spirits today...he is complaining about things, so I know he's feeling better! we don't know anymore today than yesterday, but at least he can joke around and tell his bad jokes to all of us!

I just wanted to update here...

my dad came home from the hospital Friday. They put 2 stints into the bile ducts of the liver that were being blocked from the lymphoma pushing on them. He had a port placed and more of a large lymph node removed in order for the oncologist to determine the exact kind of lymphoma he has. He goes Tuesday for a PET scan, Wednesday for a meeting to determine his eligiblity for chemo and Thursday for a meeting with the oncologist to discuss the exact treatment plan.

He is in good spirits and has gained back 8 of the 22 pounds he lost (over the 3 weeks prior to hospitalization). My Mom is better now that he is home...she has a routine that she hates to mess with and while he was in the hosp, she couldn't keep that routine, so she was kinda loopy! We have a HUGE support system in our church family, so lots of prayers are being said, but I am a firm believer in the power of prayer, so you guys keep him in yours!

I am planning to try to get back to my routine as of tomorrow~back to training for the 10K, calling all of my leads and getting more shows on the calendar for March!
