Maximizing iPhone Usage for Tax Deductions

Hi all,
Finally got my iphone last month and I am loving it!! :love: I find that I use it for so much more than just a phone! I'm trying to think ahead for taxes next year - do I write off the cost of the phone and the data charges? Monthly charges? I bought it to mostly to use for PC, but I also use it for personal use too. I find that I am researching a lot on it, checking & responding to my PC email, PWS, Chef Success, CC and the GPS feature for getting to my shows! How do I figure out my % of usage??

I would consider it a write off, but your accountant, CPA should be able to help with that answer.

You can deduct a portion of your monthly bill for service too. The best advice is to consult your tax professional.

I am an accountant and you can only write off a portion if you use it for personal use also. You can write off a portion of the cost, service charge and data charges. When you take your tax papers to your professional, they will use a formula to calculate the percentage that can be written off.
