It Just Isn't Happening: Navigating Life as a New Performer

In summary, the TPC is offering a trip to Hawaii but realistically for me, it's not happening. Even last year, when I had only 2 shows, it was not an achievable goal.

 That's awesome that they are offering it but realistically for me (w/ only 2 possible shows that month) it's not happening! Even last year being my SS2 I only had 2 shows!!!:( It's just a bad time of year. Everyone is busy so busy ! And I have only reached $3k 1 time in my year career! So thanks TPC but I don't think so!:(

Hi Heather, Yeah, I read the promo and even with this being my FT job, I don't think that I can hit that high of a mark! LOL!I have two shows booked for December, that's it! I am really trying to push people to book in January more than anything. Even on months where I have a lot more shows, my average is only about $500... We'll see... I will try for it, but I am not thinking that it's an attainable goal for me!Jaye

I was excited for the promo....but a little bummed too. Last year they had 3 different levels that we could earn extra points for the trip, instead of just one. 3K hasn't been much of a problem for me this year, but yikes, in December I just don't know!

I'm sure we'll still have double points month....we always have ever since I've been a consultant I think.:)

I have 3 shows scheduled for December...but I do not think they will get to 3k....I am having a hard time getting January bookings...everyine wants February!!

Still only 2 for December and 1 seems kind of iffy at this point. Everyone now is wanting January shows so I have like 5 potentials for the New year! Here's hoping they stick!

I have three solid for December... and all in the first two weekends! I'm doing a double-booking on the 9th... one show at 2, one at 7. Hope I survive! The 7pm show will be pretty easy... just demoing the knives and the mandoline for chili toppings, and then doing a microwave cake. Most of the guests there have seen my show before, so the host wants a short demo. I just hope I don't cut my fingers off if I'm tired!

Only 1 for December and a Christmas Bazaar. I didn't even try because I like to take it easy that month. However, I already have 4 for January and 5 for February!!

I was thinking that too! Last January was my first January, and I didn't have any shows at all because I didn't plan ahead. I actually didn't even start getting serious and trying until about 6 months into the year. Now it looks like I may finish about $1000 short of getting the first level of the Golden Treasures incentive :( If I had only did then what I am doing now! Oh well! The year isn't over just yet and it was a lesson learned.

I just sent out a 12 days of Christmas special to try to get a couple more shows. Here's a copy of the document.

Don't give up Jen! Try to throw together a Mystery Host Holiday show. With 6 weeks left, give an incentive for booking online or catalog shows. Pamper some businesses the rest of this month and ask if you can pass catalogs around. Promote express lunch shows at local businesses or doctors, banks, dentists, lawyers, etc. YOU CAN DO IT!! :D
