In summary, DH's neck has a hard lump that doesn't hurt, he will go to the doctor on Friday to find out what it is.

on DH's neck. It's kind of under his ear & behind his jaw bone. It's really hard, but doesn't hurt him at all. We're not sure what it is & he's going to see his doctor in the morning. I found it last night & he told me that he'd go to the doc on Friday. For him to volunteer to go like that has me concerned.

Keep him in your prayers, please!!

Prayers are with you Crystal - just be glad he's having it checked out and think positively!

I thought I was going to read you had a lump. I'm glad he is going in right away! I hope it is nothing but a swollen gland!

my cousin had one that was removed.....it wasn't too serious. Can't remember exactly what is was but something along the lines of a gland swollen and if it was not removed then the gland would continue to swell causing pressure to the ear and throat.

Sending prayers now.

I have had one under my jaw since high school... it swells up and hurts whenever I have any sort of inflammation going on in my mouth (toothache, canker sore, etc). It's nothing but a little cyst and I'm sure your husband will be fine! I will say a prayer just in case <hugs>.

Hoping it's nothing serious. Does he by chance have any kind of "wound" on his head or neck? A few years ago I had a scab on my scalp and it caused a lymphnod in my neck (at the hair line by my ear) to swell. It was hard and about the size of a pea or marble. Once the scab healed the bump slowly went down but I could feel it for almost a year.

Prayer for you both while you wait for the appointment.

Will keep him in my prayers! We had people come to us (worked in Radiology) often with issues like this and it was a goiter (thyroid related) swollen glands, or a cyst 95% of the time. However no matter what he is doing the right thing by going to the doctor and I will surely pray for your hubby!

I had this happen to me when I was 19. It got sooooo big and then started getting sore. I had to go to a specialist, it turned out to be a swollen lymphnode and they did a biopsy on it to be sure it wasn't cancerous. Everything was ok and from just the small amount they drained out of it for the biopsy, it went back down on it's own and I've never had a problem since. The Dr. did say that it could have been something as simple as a cat scratch that caused a minor infection that this particular lymphnode grabbed onto and just didn't let it go.

Could it be possible that this is remains of the cat attack that he had a few months ago? Would it have taken that long to show up?
