I Can Hear Roy Acuff Singing It Right Now

In summary, the Wabash Cannonball is a fun activity that is perfect for those who are looking for a way to cool off.

So I'm staying at this little hotel in Wabash, Indiana that has a nice pool. I'm thinking of going down to the pool and rolling myself into a tight little ball to jump in and see how big a splash I can make.

I'll be the new Wabash Cannonball.

Do you have any idea how long I've been waiting to use that gag?

Enjoy your little dip.

Whooo-- right over my head!

No, more like Whooooo-Woooooooo!Listen to the jingle
The rumble and the roar
As she glides along the woodland
O'er the hills and by the shore
Hear the rush of the mighty engine
Hear the lonesome hobos call
He's riding through the jungle
On the Wabash Cannonball!

Log on to amazon.com and do a search on Roy Acuff. (The King Of The Cowboys) He recorded this in 1936 and you can hear a sample of it up there.

KG-- I want you to know that I GOT IT! I think that most of this crowd might be a little young for Roy! Anybody got a fiddle?

They just require a little training.

Ahhh, Wabash, IN. The town where there's only one family tree, and it doesn't fork.

That's why the fried chicken crossed the road - it saw a fork ahead.

I thought the fried chicken crossed the road because it had no choice. It was riding in someone's tummy.

Sorry. Just remembered one of my son's bad jokes from his "Why did the chicken cross the road" phase.

The chicken crossed the road to prove to the skunk and possum that it could be done.

Don't forget the stupid racoon. Generally you'll see only one possum or skunk dead on the road. I frequently see three or four dead raccoons in essentially the same spot on the road. Like I said, stupid.

I had a raccoon take a nasty turn when I tried to chase him out of my kitchen at 12:30 in the morning. The little bas7ard bit me - once that happens, it's out of your hands. Animal Control came in to catch him while I went on a $400 cab ride (you know, the big red and white taxi with the flashing lights and siren) to the ER.The raccoon's head went on a one-way trip to the state lab and his body went to the Mad Hatter. I proudly wear that little bas7tard in the winter, complete with tail.

Good for you. The Furry Guy calls them RATcoons. They are interesting to watch. They can be really cute. They are also distructive and mean. I have the same opinion of chipmunks.
