My son just broke our 18 month old Sony LCD TV. I'm positive the LCD is broken and needs to be replaced-it's about $500. I paid $2K for the TV so I'm going to fix it. Anyways-has anyone done it themselves? I've "googled" it and some people say it's not that much of a problem to fix. So my question to you all is "have you ever fixed a LCD panel on a TV before?

Nope, but my DH shot his TV once...(long story...)

what  did the packers lose? :D :D
just kidding sounds like an interesting story.
As far as the original post I would let the professionals do it that way if it is done wrong then you can have them fix it again. I just recently bought my first lcd tv. going from a older 19in to a 32in is a huge difference.

It is a 32 inch tv! We just got a 42" for downstairs and put the 32" upstairs. I'm so upset!
