How Are We Going to Recognize One Another?

In summary, The group discussed plans to meet up during the conference. They decided that breakfast on Day Three would be the best time for a meet-up. However, they also discussed possibly meeting earlier to hang out or go shopping. They also talked about the possibility of meeting after the last workshop on Monday. Some members expressed interest in meeting at the pub in the Chicago Hilton where they were staying. They also talked about staying busy during the conference and the limited free time they would have. They mentioned possibly meeting for dinner on Day 1 before the general session and spending time with their cluster.

How are we going to recognize one another? I would love to meet you ladies & thank you in person for all of your help! :) Just wondered if anyone else was making plans to meet up?

I think the best place/time we could meet would be for breakfast on Day Three (Wednesday the 12th). This is the least structured of the meals. . . no "invitation only" or "special seating". Of course, if you are a new Director, you'll miss out on this reunion (but you've got a MUCH more exciting morning planned).

Anyone interested? If we don't make a firm plan, we'll never find each other. Breakfast runs from 7-8:30 (first workshop is at 9:00). We would need to designate a meeting spot or someway to find each other. Ideas?

I was kind of thinking we could meet a little earlier in case we wanted to make plans to hang out or go shopping/supper during downtime (Monday evening, for example). Maybe we could find a spot to meet after the last workshop on Monday? I've never been to conference, so I don't know how everything is set up.

Crystal, Monday evening we have the awards night, where everyone walks the stage for their accomplishments! I'm not walking but I know some gals from this site are;) It's fun to watch & see how many people have achieved the top levels.

I agree Monday night wouldn't work, but I'm open to any other time. I think it would be great to meet the other cheffers.

OK, sorry. I just thought that there'd be time between the end of the last session (4:15) and the Opening General Session (7:30) unless everyone is included in the President's Reception? Like I said, I'm new at this, so I don't know how everything works. :)

I can't do breakfast on day 3. Where is everyone staying? I'm staying at the Chicago Hilton. Maybe we could meet in the pub there at night for a drink?

Hey, it's ok! I know, the 3 hrs sounds like quite a bit of time. But when you consider shuttle time to & from McCormick to the hotel, it basically leaves time to eat & that's about it! I learned that last year, since of course I'm from a super-small town, so taking longer than 5 minutes to get somewhere in the same town is new to me:rolleyes:

Meeting for dinner on Day 1 before the general session would be nice. What do you think about that?

just bumping this up. . .

How many of you will be spending dinner on Day 1 with your cluster? I will. Now that we've grown (and separated) this is the only time we can get together.
