Director Get a Load Out of This...violation.

In summary, the author is concerned that someone may be selling items under the name of the Pampered Chef, and they wonder if the club has reached its limit of members. They also post about a similar situation involving a consultant who has been close to the author for years. They advise contacting home office to investigate and decide what to do.

Wonder if HO has seen this? Can you believe it?! Wonder how many "members" they have. I smell a scam. Searched for PC on craigslist and the ad pulled up this site.

Wow, what in the world??? That's so weird. I wonder how they do that? Totally seems like a scam!

Wow! I can't even believe that.

Holy Cow!! How and Why???!! Gee whiz, sometimes I feel like such an idiot to do things the right way!!! (not really)

WOW! Club is limited to 5,000 @ $10 each....$$$$ someone is making some money!

Please tell me you sent that to HO...

I sent it off regardless if anyone else did to HO. Sent them link and said "Is this appropriate?"

We'll see!

I am sure there is no Pampered Chef items actually being sold. BUT they are using PC name. How would you even know the truth if they said your bid was not unique so they have the $10 from each person and I am sure they are not stopping at 5000.

OMG! I posted this on cs too and someone found in the terms/conditions a persons name and contact information. It's the husband to one of MY consultants!!! How do I handle this? Leave it to HO or do I say something to her?

FYI--she's been on my team for at least 2 years and does just enough to stay active...like a show every so many months. I wonder if she even knows about it. I know they've had money troubles for a long time and her husband works from home. It's listed under his name. I'm not posting this on cs b/c I think she has been on there before.

WOW!! How weird to find that out. I would let HO handle it. Although, if it's something he's doing behind her back (do you really think she wouldn't know?), then maybe it IS worth telling her.

This whole thing is just bizarre!

you have to turn her in!

I second the OMG - Contact home office and let them take care of it. Tough situation your in. Ask Home office if you should do anything as her director. They should be able to advise you appropriately.

I'll be thinking of you and hope it turns out good (or as good as it can)

Could you hear the sound of my jaw hitting the floor reading that? HOLY CRAP!!!!I second what Malinda says... Call HO and ask how you should handle it but don't talk to customer service... get a supervisor and explain the situation and get to the right person on this one...

I've been thinking about this and I guess it was only a matter of time before someone did something like this. I read an article a while back and it took me a few minutes to locate it, but here's what I found. I'm NOT sure this is what this guy is doing, but this info is interesting nonetheless and something everyone should be aware of...http://www.smartmoney.com/spend/fam...1300313918147/?cid=sm_dailyfinanceRSS&print=1

We had our team mtg. this morning and she attended. She brought a guest with her for the 1st time. I didn't feel it was appropriate to say anything to her in front of everyone so it wasn't brought up. She did tell me before leaving that she was discouraged b/c she had contacted EVERYONE in her database and offered a free stone of choice if they'd book a show and no one took her up on it. To be honest I don't know if she's done over 10 shows total. So we talked about how she did the contact calls and so on and I gave her a few ideas. She also told me she had gotten signed up for a craft fair that she did last year. I kept waiting to see if she'd mention the ad on craigslist or the website but she didn't. I'm really wondering if she is aware of it. My Exec. is my Dir. and is out of town for the weekend. I'm going to talk to her about it beginning of the week and go from there. Since it's already been reported to HO I'm +++ my fingers that they handle the issue for me. Call me "chicken".

I wouldn't call you that at all!!!! This is HO's responsibility to handle it, not yours. And her husband is the one who is doing it, not her so technically, she's not in violation. Wait and see what your exec says. Nothing is going to happen over the weekend anyway so try not to stress too much! HUGS!!!!!

Are you Kidding me?!!! You have to talk to her. She is blatantly breaking the rules and you should let her know that she is. You can give her the benefit of the doubt that she did not know her husband did it or that she does not know what she is doing is against our rules; it may also be illegal. I know you might feel uncomfortable, but you have to talk to her, it is your job as a leader.

At first I was going to say " but she may not know about it," but unless her husband is REALLY knowledgeable about PC products, I would think she HAS to be aware of it.

I agree with talking to a supervisor in the consultant career dept and explaining everything. Even if others have reported it, I'd want to contact them directly if it were me. And just be honest and let them know you don't know how to approach her with it. Obviously inform your upline when she's back in town too. What a STRANGE situation. Is she aware of the internet policies?? Maybe she's not? If so, then they'll tell her to take it down (even though it's not technically HER) and she can go on her merry way and run her business like we all do and have no repercussions.

So glad you found this. Keep us posted.

Man, you are definitely stuck between a rock & a hard place on this one!

I'd probably call & bring it up to someone in my downline, but that's just my personality to give them a head's up. But since you're not comfortable doing that, I'd agree with the other girls that you talk to HO about and give them what information you do have for their investigation.

The really sad part is that when her hubby shuts down the site, all those people loose their $10 investment.

Definitely contact HO and your upline about this. I would contact your sales manager. They have the connections to get you the right advice, even more so than a supervisor at he solution center.

You need to talk to someone in Consultant Career solutions. You can reach them my dialing the Solution Center number. I don't think this falls under the purview of your sales manager.

I agree but I do know that they can get you listened to faster sometimes and direct you to the right person.

HO was on top of it and sent out an e-mail to her and cced me this morning. I did talk to my Dir. who told me at this point to let HO handle it and see what happens. I forwarded her a copy of the message they sent me and just said wanted to be sure you got this, was nice to see you at the meeting. She copied me on her response to HO and said she knew nothing about the site but figured it was a well meaning family member trying to help her out and she would contact them. I just had a feeling that she wouldn't be behind it. I think she is honest and trustworthy and still have to believe that at this point.

  • #29
YAY for HO!!! You'll have to keep us posted on what happens!!!!

Glad they responded quickly! I know that must be a load off your shoulders. ;)
