Discover the Deliciousness of Brie with Our Friends Thread Recipe

In summary, each of the people described in the conversation have one thing in common- they are difficult to be friends with because they are only interested in talking about themselves and their life. The person I am speaking of is difficult to be friends with because she is always leaving out details and is very vague when answering questions.

Brie RecipeThe new Brie recipe looks so pretty and sophisticated- but I really don't like Brie. Those of you that have made it for a meeting or other function can you clue me in? Did people like it that don't like Brie? Did only people who like Brie like it? Am I picky and most people like Brie?
Thanks!

I made it for my cluster meeting and I made it for a spa party my daughter and I hosted. In both cases the brie disappeared from the stone. Everyone loved it! Even 12 year old girls were eating it!

When I first saw the recipe I was not too excited about it because I did not like brie in the past. I LOVE IT! Also, it is incredibly quick and easy to make so it will be a wonderful show recipe! I want to make it with the Cranberry or Lemon Fizz drinks.

Lisa

Thanks Lisa! Like Deb, I have NO interest in Brie!! I'm not excited at all about this recipe. Maybe some of you will change my mind!!:)

I LOVE brie, plan on doing this at shows and taking it to some of the businesses that I pamper from time to time

Thanks Lisa! I will give it a try.

Okay...this will sound really stupid  but I have never had Brie so....how do you serve this? Do you cut it in little wedges or "scoop" some on your spreader? What's the proper etiquette?

It's times like this that I feel SO country-bumpkin

MAKE THIS RECIPE!!! It is SO easy, SO delicious and an Awesome presentation! I have made it for several things I have hosted since conference and EVERYONE LOVES IT. I made it for our cluster meeting the other night, I made the variation with brown sugar and dejon mustard instead of preserved and jalepeno pepper, It was just as good. A few girls commented how they don't like Brie but Loved it when they tried it...it will sell the stone AND woven selection, It is so Easy....
I use the spreader to serve it....I recommend everyone try it....the hardest part of this recipe is cutting the bread! Have a great day :)

When you heat the brie in the oven for 8-10 minutes, it will become soft, even though it holds its shape. Then as Krissy stated, a spreader will work great with it.

taking a spin off from another thread.... do any of you have one of those friends who you love dearly but often find it hard to "be friends with"?

I have a friend who I find it so hard to NOT get annoyed with everytime we talk. It just seems like it's all about her whats happening in her life then "ooh gotta run".
I know it's not just me because I am also friends with her twin who also has the same complaint.

Um...yes. We have a great friendship....if I ever need her she is there and vice versa. However, the give and take is unbalanced and to be honest...it is emotionally and physically demanding and draining to spend time with her.

I love her to death and she is a part of my chosen family so we will always be friends.....

does this drive your DH nuts??? it does mine.He just doesn't understand I guess.
You explained the person I am speaking of to a T !!

can you tell I just had a conversation w/ her???

Yeah it absolutely drives him nuts! He tolerates though cause he is a good guy.

I have one who annoys me every time we talk. Every once in a while I wonder if I were insane and had no impulse control, would I just punch her? I don't talk to her often. Sometimes the urge to smack her is just too strong and it makes me feel bad bad bad. We exchange emails a few times a year.
I have another friend who says "I'll call you back" and never does. Or says "I'll come over on such and such a day and such and such a time" and never does. I can rely on her to be unreliable. I talk to her as much as every day with several weeks of break from time to time.

Yeah, one of those best freinds of mine is totally all about ME and if doesn't suit her than she's not interested at all and gives no support sometimes. But I'm always there for here not matter what! It bugs but I love her anyways. ;)

I have a friend who can be draining because I don't ever know what she's getting at. You know what I mean? She talks about her life and I don't know why she's telling me things because she never really finishes the story. She leaves out details that don't reflect well on her, so when I ask questions she gives very vague answers. She is such a positive person and points out the best in people, including myself and my husband when I'm complaining about him to her. BUT she is so positive that she isn't totally honest when it comes to any negative things about herself. It's just weird sometimes, and that is draining for me. I avoid calling her unless I have a really long time to talk about nothing. So, basically, I don't call her very often.

Um...I have a girlfriend from 7th grade on who does the SAME thing!

We talk, and it's like we are best buds...then she says she'll call and never does. Never returns calls or emails. Never follows through with scheduled plans...always has some big reason why she has to cancel.

I finally gave up and decided that it's HER turn to make some effort. If she does, that's great...if not, I am not dealing with it!

How is this possible that we all have these people as "friends?" It's so hard to make friends as an adult, you would think that we would hold onto good friends from childhood and actually put some EFFORT into the relationship!

My DH gets pretty peeved over it, too. I think he has seen me upset about her crapping on me over and over. He really doesn't care for her at this point.

I have one of those childhood 'friends'...actually I have had several. Sadly, I have had to let go of them. I finally realized I didn't really care for these people as adults and so why was I holding on to their 'friendship' again? Couldn't come up with anything. I finally realized that I'm a grown up, I choose my friends, and decided I want to invest my energy into someone who lifts me up, not brings me down.

I had (have) a friend like that..we met in 9th grade, we were the best of friends but she was always a drama queen! I mean, DRAMA, always crying over this or that, her laughs were over the top, but then she was SO negative and everything she had or did was so much better or different than mine...finally about 5 yrs ago I was planning my wedding and she started being negative about something and I let go, I let her have it, threw her out of my house, told her to never come back and that I couldn't stand the kind of person she became..why she always had to be so much better than me, etc. I felt an incredible relief when she walked out of my house, like "why didn't I do that years ago?"..well, because when you are friends with someone for SO LONG you dont think of them ever being out of your life...well, we went about 2 yrs w/o speaking, and then we started exchanging emails when I found out she was going through a divorce and had a young son. So, I reached out to her...but we only just exchange email, never call each other or see each other, and she only lives 10 min away. Email is close enough contact for me! I know that sounds mean, but I have alot of friends, and I don't need someone who is so negative and putting down everything I do or say. She's the only friend I have ever really let go of. And I don't regret it one bit, wish I would have done it years before.
