To make this delicious dip, you will need the following ingredients:
Yes, this dip can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator until you are ready to serve it. Just make sure to cover it tightly with plastic wrap to prevent it from drying out.
To make the perfect layered dip, start by spreading the refried beans in an even layer on the bottom of a 9-inch pie dish or similar serving dish. Next, mix the taco seasoning with the sour cream and spread it on top of the beans. Then, add a layer of guacamole, followed by a layer of salsa. Sprinkle shredded cheese on top and add any optional toppings, such as black olives and tomatoes. Serve with tortilla chips and enjoy!
While traditionally made with refried beans, you can use any type of beans you prefer in this dip. Black beans, pinto beans, or even a combination of different beans will work well. Just make sure to mash them up before spreading them in the bottom of the dish.
This recipe makes about 8-10 servings, depending on the size of your serving dish and how much dip each person consumes. If you are serving a larger crowd, you can easily double the recipe and use a larger dish to accommodate more guests.
