Dealing with a Toe Injury Before a Show: My Experience at the Nail Salon

In summary, Carolyn was injured at the nail salon and has a cut on her toe. She is worried about infection and recommends that the toe be checked out.

Walking into the nail salon this evening for a pedicure, I opened the door in such a way that the corner of it gashed my big toe :(
The nail techs were so good to me - they sat me right down & disinfected it...and then Crazy-Glued it shut - OUCH.

It smarts :(
And I have a show Tuesday night...

I see you got the pedicure, anyway! Nice looking nails (owie looking cut, though!).

I sooo need to get a pedicure. That would mean, though, shaving my legs (and, NOT jamming my toe into the door).

Hope you heal quickly, Carolyn. Superglue? Really??

Ouch!!! That looks like it really hurts, Carolyn! However...super cute shade of pink on your little tootsies. :D I hope it heals fast!

Ewww :( Just wait now you will bang it on everything!

Carolyn - you and I both should be wearing steel toed shoes all the time not sandals!!!!DD stomped on my toe today...I thought it was healed...nope still smarts! I've caught my big toe on our outside door weather strip 3 times this summer. The last time it pulled my nail up a bit...YEOUCH!Keep it clean and protected and get better!

Oh my goodness...you and Janet are gonna have to write a book on wierd injuries!

Do you think it's a good idea for you to go out of the house? LOL

Sorry...hope it heals quickly!! Super gluing your cut does NOT sound like fun! Your toes look cute, though!

I just love that your "thumbnail" is about a toenail! :)

I had to have my finger "glued" in the ER this week! I guess it wasn't as bad as stitches! Helping my neighbor make an apple pie...using the A/P/C/S and sliced my finger! DUH...what a week I had!! and I had 3 shows to do...

Your injury is way more of a bummer than mine...especially with three shows! I am so sorry!
How's it healing now?

Infection is what I am most worried about as it was a dirty door and then she cleaned it and sealed it with glue...then plunged my foot into the pedi-tub. It's hard to see what's going on as there is such a thick coating of glue over it. I have been washing it with Hibiclens tho - that's the stuff they use in hospitals.

Protect those tootsies, Carolyn. I'd suggest that the cold weather would help with the toe thing as you move to enclosed shoes. However, I know that young, hip people (especially those who live in Florida) tend to wear sandals or flip-flops all year long.

FYI: Stitches are very RARELY used nowadays. Medical grade super glue has been used for at least 5 years for most injuries.
