DH says you lose cleverness points for naming one of your dogs Scotty, but you get half of them back for naming their pen Scotland Yard. Now, if you named one of them Doohan, you'd get bonus nerd points.

Tell DH that I would never name a Scottie, "Scottie." Our Scottie is a rescue dog and he came pre-named at the age of five.

Bunsen's a rescue bird. We renamed him. But we think he was only 2 when we got him.

Scottie knew his name. In fact, I've never known a dog, especially a Scottish Terrierist, like him. Say his name, his tail wags. About the only time he doesn't wag his tail is when he's sleeping, but if you wake him, by calling his name, you can hear his tail banging against the floor, or sofa, or whatever it is he's sleeping on.
