Pampered Chef Pastry BrushI tell all of my customers who purchase the pastry brush that it should not
be washed in the dishwasher, since the high heat will eventually make the
bristles start to fall out and make hairy food. The way I wash mine is squirt some
Dawn dishwashing liquid directly onto the bristles and masssage it into the
entire bristle part. Then rinse really well with warm/hot water. Then shake
it out and hang it upside down to dry. Also, if they use something colored,
like the red jello in the Strawberry Cheesecake Torte, they need to wash it
immediately or the bristles will be permanently pink.

I use shampoo to clean it.
It is just like hair!
I also soak mine periotically in lemon juice to freshen it.
