LinkedIn has been around for awhile now for business professionals. I wonder if any cheffers have a LinkedIn page and if it is helpful to their business?

I have a LinkedIn page but haven't really put any time and effort into it. I get notifications in my email about random people that I don't know "endorsing" me for random stuff. I guess I don't really understand it. I am really trying to give my ALL to my business though, so I would be curious if others are using it successfully and may like to give it a try.

It depends on what you mean by successful. I have a good rating. I can't say I use it effectively for sales. It does help me to connect with other business people, and I get some good business ideas. Here's what I've been told about social media:

  • Facebook is very social. It's fun. It's interactive. It has the most personality.
  • Twitter is for letting people know where you are and what you're doing. It's short and immediate.
  • LinkedIn is all business. It's a good way to search for a job or connect business to business.

For me, Facebook is currently the most effective social media platform for connecting with customers and growing my PC business.

I've pretty much given up on LinkedIn. It's too difficult to friend people and it feels very dry.
