There's a smileycom website, but it costs - on here, it's free!!! :thumbup: If you go to "advanced" at the bottom instead of quick reply, you'll see more smileycons :sing: and you can just have fun picking the ones you want to use. :love: Does that help?

Well, the first thing you need to do is learn how to embed graphics into a post. You can learn that by reading The Photo Thread. It doesn't matter if it's a photograph, a drawing, or a smiley, it's a graphic, and graphics cannot be imported into Chef Success - they have to be referenced from elsewhere. That's what The Photo Thread is about.

Next, remember, google is your friend. There's a bazillion smilies out there.

Did you figure it out yet?Find them? Google is your friend. There are about a half a bazillion sites out there that offer free smilies.

Save them? Well, some of us have our own supply built up in a repository, like photobucket, so we can get to them quickly, when we need them. Others just link them from where they find them, although, that can be risky. The links could get broken and you loose your smiley. (Read The Photo Thread to see how to link graphics into CS.)You post them the way it's described in the photo thread, by copying the URL of the graphic. (Right click on the graphic and choose "Copy Image Location.") Above the editing window are several icons...bold, italic, underline, left justify, center justify, right justify, number list, bullet list, outdent, indent, link, break link, email link, graphic, quote and wrap code. The graphic icon is the one you want...it looks like a picture postcard of a mountain range. (Some say that's the moon or sun in the upper right corner, but it looks like a stamp to me.) When you click on that icon, a pop-up dialog box appears, looking for the URL of the graphic you wish to link to. For example... if you go to the Confused Smilies page of mysmily.net and decide you like this guy

• Hover the pointer over it and right-click. You'll get a pop-up menu, choose "Copy Image Location."
• Come back here to your post, and click the image icon. (The yellow one that looks like a picture post card, remember?) A pop-up window appears and asks for the address of the smiley.
• Delete the "http://" and paste the URL of your smiley in the window. Click "OK."
• In your post, you'll see some goofy looking text - it will be the tagged code to insert your smiley, it will look something like this:

Don't worry, when you click "Submit Reply" your smiley will appear:

That's about it. It's actually a lot simpler than it reads.

I have a photobucket account - but I have no idea what the bad code is that needs to be edited out....AND - I've figured out how to download pictures and post them from photobucket, but how would I do smilies? I mean - how do I get them to photobucket to begin with?

I created a folder in photobucket just for smilies.

In the upload area, you have the option to copy from a URL...see it there in the upload box? I think it's the third one.

On the smilies page, right click on smiley you want, choose "Copy Image Location." That puts the URL on the clipboard.

Back in photobucket, past the URL into the empty field. You can copy up to 25 images into photobucket at once.

When you've had enough C&P, click Upload.

I Give UpOK, I have a photobucket, I can't seem to get anything uploaded there unless it is from my computer. So I save the smile to my document folder and try to upload from there. No go. :cry:

I have been trying this off and on for a few days. I'm not the brightest star in the sky, but I ain't stupid either! Really bugs me that I can't figure this out!!!! (ok I feel better)

So I will deal with the smilies here and be happy

Okay, let's try this again, then.In Photobucket, in the upload window, there is a bar across the top with four positions: Images from my PC, Video, Web URL and Video Phone.Choose "Web URL."Copy the location of the smiley you want, and in that photobucket upload window, paste the web address (URL) of the smiley. You may copy & paste up to 25 images in that window and upload them all at once.Once they're in photobucket, you can copy any image to here by clicking on the 4th window below the image. I can't get them to photobucket! That is my problem.

When I copy and paste, it uploads and tells me I have a bad url. So I delete all the extra stuff, then it uploads it and tells me that I have no imagine selected. But it does show the smile I wanted.

It is no big deal, just fustrating. There are some really cute ones out there that I would like to use here and on other projects.
