Hey ~ thought I would share from my "sister Director Heather Houze" ~ Yes, Heather was on the cover of Consultant News (summer?) ~ was surprised from the Dream Patrol for qualifying quite a few consultants in one month.

From Heather:

Just wanted to share that today I tried the 1 minute 10 second cake
in the heart shaped SA dish in the microwave...turned out great. I
did it 2 times and recommend omitting the frosting before "baking"
and frosting it after...the "lava" effect is lost on the heart shape.

I think this would be a fun deal to do at a January party.

You can contact me directly if you have any questions...I have listed
the original cake recipe below for those unfamiliar with it.

Heather Houze

Original recipe:

ONE MINUTE-10 SECOND CAKE MICROWAVE "CUP" CAKES
(Thanks Adv. Dir. Holly Stephens for sharing with the director loop!!)
This is a fun idea to share with guests. With the end of school right
around the corner, this would make a fun and different "end-of-the-
year" gift for a teacher (great coffee cup when they are done with
the cake.) Just put the ½ cup mix in the cup. Attach a scoop of
frosting by putting it is a small Ziploc bag and placing on top of
the mix. Wrap the cup with cellophane and tie the recipe to the bow.
Keep the mix on hand for kids to make treats with their friends—
great teen-age late night "movie" snack—especially with vanilla ice
cream!!!!

Basic Cup Cake Mix:
1 BOX Cake Mix (your choice of flavor)
1 small box of INSTANT JELLO PUDDING (your choice of flavor)

To make the cakes follow the directions below:

1/2 cup of Basic Mix
1 egg
1 Tablespoon Oil
1 Tablespoon Water
1 Medium Scoop prepared frosting
Mix together in the SIMPLE ADDITIONS CUP. Add 1 scoop (a HEAPING
teaspoon) of your choice of prepared frosting. DO NOT STIR!! Place in
the microwave and cook 1 minute 10 seconds—no more, no less. Invert
on plate and you have a MOUTEN LAVA CAKE—YUM!!!

IDEAS:
Strawberry cake mix, cheesecake pudding, and cream cheese frosting
Banana cake mix, vanilla pudding (or banana), cream cheese frosting
Chocolate cake mix, chocolate pudding, chocolate frosting
German chocolate cake mix, coconut pudding, coconut pecan frosting
Lemon cake mix, vanilla pudding, cream cheese frosting.

You can ADD NUTS in the mix.

Happy Holidays
Heather Houze

Just wondering if it came out easily or did you grease the heart or just east it in the dish....TIA:chef:

When I've done them in the coffee & more cups we ate them in the cups. That's what I'd do for a show, personally... rather than trying to invert them, because I know me: I'd make a mess.

I'm so doing this at all of my January shows!!!!! This is such an amazing idea!I might try it today!!!!!Ooooohhhh... brainstorm!!!!Could these be made in advance? Not with the frosting, but just the regular recipe?I'm thinking that I could make a bunch of these and give them out as favors for Christmas! I really love making goodies for everyone to take home! I'm going to make cookies but thought this would be a cute addition? Hmmmm.... guess the power shake from this morning is kicking in!!!!

GOOD IDEA! I didn't know you could make a cake out of it. I've never cooked in my sa. Only served.

Thanks so much for sharing the recipe and tips with all of us! Can't wait to try it out!

Just tried it! Too cute!

Just had a brain explosion........you could make 4 or 5 of them and put them in a circle like a wreath! Put the icing on and decorate with sprinkles or gumdrops! This would look great on the Round SA Platter!!!!

Can you just prepare the cake mix according to the directions then put about 1/2-1 cup of the cake mix in them??

Related to 1 Minute 10 Second Cake in the Sa Heart Bowl

1. What ingredients do I need to make the 1 Minute 10 Second Cake in the Sa Heart Bowl?

To make this cake, you will need:- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour- 1 tablespoon sugar- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder- 1/8 teaspoon salt- 1 egg- 1 tablespoon milk- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

2. Can I use a different bowl besides the Sa Heart Bowl?

Yes, you can use any microwave-safe bowl that is similar in size to the Sa Heart Bowl. Keep in mind that the cooking time may vary depending on the bowl you use.

3. Do I need to preheat the Sa Heart Bowl before making the cake?

No, there is no need to preheat the bowl before making the cake. Just make sure it is clean and dry before adding the ingredients.

4. Can I make any substitutions for the ingredients?

Yes, you can make some substitutions based on your dietary preferences or what you have on hand. For example, you can use almond milk instead of regular milk, or coconut oil instead of vegetable oil. However, keep in mind that it may affect the texture and taste of the cake.

5. How do I know when the cake is done?

The cake is done when it is fully set and springs back when lightly touched. You can also insert a toothpick into the center of the cake - if it comes out clean, the cake is done. If it still has batter on it, microwave for an additional 10 seconds and check again.
