theOfficial Hijacking Threads Hijack Thread

In summary, many people are complaining about the way threads get hijacked and morph into something completely unrelated to the original thread title. Some say it's just the way normal conversation flows and topics change as one topic reminds speakers of another. Others say thread hijacking is an awful thing and it is terribly annoying. Well, this thread is going to stay on topic: thread hijacking! Few things are harder to put up with than the annoyance of a good example.

I just wanted to be post #2500!

Not much else to say!

Oh, what a dork...I already was. Sorry!

So, did all you wave 1-ers have a good time in Chicago?

Yes - I had a great time!I also learned a painful lesson - I know more Cheffers from around country than I know in my own local peer clusters. Our banquet was one of the most boring three hours in my recent memory.I couldn't wait to get back to my hotel room so I could get back online with all of you!

  • #2,505
Oh, that's sweet! You missed us!!

Sorry your banquet was a bomb. I'm not really looking forward to our banquet, because no one from here is going to the one I am. That bites. I guess I'll just have to sit with my cluster mates. (If they allow that!)

You know the only reason you couldn't have a good time is because if you couldn't get a bunch of women riled up all in the same room if it was in real life and make it out alive, lol, only a room online, but you know it was awfully quiet.

Like you all woudn't drop me like yesterday's newspaper if Grande stepped in here. You know, Jennifer, when there's a dance floor and a DJ, and you're the only guy in the room, you expect at least a smile and a nod. When you're sitting alone at a table, you don't expect the first woman to walk up to the table to say, "Do you mind if I take this chair?" Like my answer made any difference anyway, then they take the chair and go to a different table.Just before I gave up and went back to my room. two nice young ladies sat down, introduced themselves and we chatted briefly. Of course, the only reason they sat with me was because it was the only open table left.

  • #2,508
AHHH, I'm sorry KG, wish I would have been there, I DEFINATELY would have sat with you and we would have had a riot!

We coulda' partied it up, but I remember the drinks at the party/dance/whatever were VERY EXPENSIVE last year and I vowed that next time I would be packin' (my own drinks that is, lol)http://www.thesmilies.com/smilies/party0016.gif
I kinda' like this one, that will be me later on next month when I turn the BIG 3-0, lol, just another day!

Hey, I don't care about getting older, and I certainly don't feel like I am very old, but when my oldest turned 10 earlier this year I said to myself how can that be, I'm not old enough to have a kid that old, wait a minute, yes I am, how in the heck did he get that old, and where was I???

It's hell to get old, but it sure beats the alternative.

I posted this in another thread, but I'm going to post it here, too, since more of you are likely to see it:A story that you might enjoy...When I went to get on the train yesterday, one cluster of those peers from my National Director's downline came into the waiting room. One of them recognized me, I could tell by her eyes. The rest of the group acted like I was just dirty laundry. They were actually sitting NEXT to me in the chairs and even when I said something to them, just acted like I was invisible. (ALL of you would recognize one of them, too, and be even more surprised at her arrogant, "I'm a Director and YOU'RE not" attitude than I was!)Sitting across the way from me was a lady who was sitting with a huge suitcase and she was reading a book. She smiled at me a couple of times and also checked out the Clucker Cluster, too. When it came time to board and she stood up, she had her conference tote bag! I started to talk to her, when he members of the Clucker Cluster saw her logo tote, they talked to her, for about 15 seconds, before they went back to their own little world. So she and I started talking, it turns out she came all the way from England to attend conference and visit relatives in the area. We had a delightful chat on the train and I have a new friend - so I can now claim I have better Cheffer friends in ENGLAND than I do at home.Watch for her here after she gets home, too!

Here is what i have learned from doing all kinds of "upline" businesses..........NO ONE above me matters. I don't care to even get to know them because teh ONLY thing that matters is if I make money and have a good time. I am NOT a part of my cluster due to distance and I really just dont' care. I in 3 days have more friends, support, information, and business tips from THIS FORUM than i have in 5 months of being in my cluster.

  • #2,516
Ah KG. They truly have NO idea of what they're missing. I'd sit next to you any day of the week. http://www.clicksmilies.com/s1106/liebe/love-smiley-057.gif

TY, I have no problem with my cluster, and some of the peers that are in my director's director's line. It's the arrogance of these people that is sad - they have no idea what kind of image they are projecting to the rest of the world. There were many other people in that waiting area that saw all the logo materials and could see what was going on.While I sound angry about it (and I suppose I am, in a way) but the truth is, the members of the Clucker Cluster are the ones who are missing the big picture.

Ann! I've been chasing you around posting after you to say I'm so sorry I couldn't connect with you yesterday!

About your potty party.........At our executive banquet, people were going up to tell "most embarrassing moment at a show" stories.....and I kept thinking of your potty party......then, in the van on the way home, we continued the stories - and I shared "My friend, Ann's"! Everyone agreed that it was the most disgusting one! YOU WIN!:D (It even beat the "you are going to love this deep dick baker" story!)

TY, I wish I was near a "rockin" cluster.........I guess i better be quiet, i don't really know any of my cluster, therefore they may be on here..>OH GOOD LORD, but wait, do i really care? My previous post reminds me that the answer to that is NOPE! Dont get me wrong, I dont have anything against them, it is just (IMHO) a really struggling cluster. And they insist on having meetings at 6 or 6:30 in the evening, I am sorry but i cannot make it by then..And I am sooooooooo a city girl at heart living in the country, which makes for a miserable experience with country minded folk..........east texas country is different from ANY country folk that might actually read this and think i am talking about them. I AM NOT! ..(SORRY FOR THE VENT! I will go hide in my corner now)

Is it possible to "find another cluster" near me some how? Is there a list of some sort?

Awww.... I'm sorry that you're in a not-awesome group. Sometimes the atmosphere of your cluster can really help - if they are supportive, and offer fun challenges, etc.

Check around here to see if anyone is willing to welcome you to their meetings.

Oh Becky, my eyes are still wet from laughing so hard. I was just reading along...la te da te da...when I came to the last line of your post. I could so imagine someone saying that and then couldn't stop laughing. I needed that, so thank you.

Ann, glad you got your money!

Now, you didn't tell me THAT happened to you! If I'd a known that I'd a waltzed right in there, popped them beeches in the nose, then escorted you down two doors to OUR party.

Maybe we just need to have one of us cheffers on here make ED and then we could have our OWN Executive Banquet :D

I volunteer .... ;)

Hey, Sandy. I just transferred pics from my camera to my computer and realized that I didn't have the red eye reduction turned on when I was taking pics in the bar. Yours looked particularly demonic. :)Don't worry, I corrected them all. Hooray for iPhoto! And the pic of KG in the fruit hat has NOT been PhotoShopped!

Mine wasn't as much boring as it was too long. It would have been a lot more fun to sit at a table with fellow CS'ers. I guess it will be more fun next year because I'm planning to get some recognition during the thing!

I thought they were cute, but they aren't the gender-neutral type of gift we've had in the past. The items that are useful are probably my favorites: travel coffee cup, note pad holder, nice pens, etc.

  • #2,544
A travel coffe mug would be an awesome advertisement. Maybe next year.

  • #2,545
Last year we got a travel cup. I use it every day for my commute coffee. :) It matched the totebag. And the umbrella that Directors got.

I was not feeling well and just wanted the whole thing to be over! Best part though I met chefBeckyD! She took some pics of my cluster for us.

Thanks Becky!
