I also learned a painful lesson - I know more Cheffers from around country than I know in my own local peer clusters. Our banquet was one of the most boring three hours in my recent memory.
I couldn't wait to get back to my hotel room so I could get back online with all of you!

I FINALLY got the money order from the Potty Party! It came in the mail while I was in Chicago. Hooray! And just in time, too - I floated the show and got a "less than $50 in your account" note from my bank yesterday.

I don't care to even get to know them because teh ONLY thing that matters is if I make money and have a good time. I am NOT a part of my cluster due to distance and I really just dont' care. I in 3 days have more friends, support, information, and business tips from THIS FORUM than i have in 5 months of being in my cluster.
Awww.... I'm sorry that you're in a not-awesome group. Sometimes the atmosphere of your cluster can really help - if they are supportive, and offer fun challenges, etc.prnces515 said:TY, I wish I was near a "rockin" cluster.........I guess i better be quiet, i don't really know any of my cluster, therefore they may be on here..>OH GOOD LORD, but wait, do i really care? My previous post reminds me that the answer to that is NOPE! Dont get me wrong, I dont have anything against them, it is just (IMHO) a really struggling cluster. And they insist on having meetings at 6 or 6:30 in the evening, I am sorry but i cannot make it by then..And I am sooooooooo a city girl at heart living in the country, which makes for a miserable experience with country minded folk..........east texas country is different from ANY country folk that might actually read this and think i am talking about them. I AM NOT! ..(SORRY FOR THE VENT! I will go hide in my corner now)
ChefBeckyD said:About your potty party.........At our executive banquet, people were going up to tell "most embarrassing moment at a show" stories.....and I kept thinking of your potty party......then, in the van on the way home, we continued the stories - and I shared "My friend, Ann's"! Everyone agreed that it was the most disgusting one! YOU WIN! (It even beat the "you are going to love this deep dick baker" story!)

You know, Jennifer, when there's a dance floor and a DJ, and you're the only guy in the room, you expect at least a smile and a nod. When you're sitting alone at a table, you don't expect the first woman to walk up to the table to say, "Do you mind if I take this chair?"
Like my answer made any difference anyway, then they take the chair and go to a different table.
Just before I gave up and went back to my room. two nice young ladies sat down, introduced themselves and we chatted briefly. Of course, the only reason they sat with me was because it was the only open table left.
Mine wasn't as much boring as it was too long. It would have been a lot more fun to sit at a table with fellow CS'ers. I guess it will be more fun next year because I'm planning to get some recognition during the thing!The_Kitchen_Guy said:Yes - I had a great time!I also learned a painful lesson - I know more Cheffers from around country than I know in my own local peer clusters. Ain't I sweet??
I thought they were cute, but they aren't the gender-neutral type of gift we've had in the past. The items that are useful are probably my favorites: travel coffee cup, note pad holder, nice pens, etc.The_Kitchen_Guy said:Let's have our own banquet next year...and we won't give away CHARMS.

A thread hijacking occurs when the topic of a conversation in a forum thread shifts from the original subject to something completely unrelated.
There are a few reasons why threads may get hijacked. Sometimes, it's simply the natural flow of conversation as one topic leads to another. Other times, it may be due to a lack of moderation or enforcement of staying on topic. Some users may also intentionally hijack threads for attention or to disrupt the conversation.
Yes, thread hijacking is a common issue on forums. It can be frustrating for users who are genuinely interested in the original topic and can make it difficult for others to follow the conversation.
Moderation is key in preventing thread hijacking. Forum moderators should actively monitor threads and redirect the conversation back to the original topic if it veers off track. Setting clear guidelines for staying on topic can also help prevent thread hijacking.
If you notice a thread being hijacked, you can try politely redirecting the conversation back to the original topic. You can also flag the thread for moderation or report the issue to a forum moderator. It's important to remember to stay respectful and avoid engaging in any arguments or off-topic discussions.
